Welcome once again to Let’s Spoon 17, the second season in The Age of Alchemy era!

As a reminder, this is a multi-season journey to crown The Alchemist. Practitioners of this medieval discipline aimed to transmute metals into gold or the elixir of life. They believed in harnessing the power of the four natural elements - water, fire, earth, and air - on their quest. Through mastery of these four elements, you will also be given this opportunity to transmute your metal spoons into gold.

Over the next few seasons, you will be granted powers to manipulate these natural elements. The top performers and those who leave a lasting impression will be selected as candidates to complete in an all stars experience, with one ultimately becoming The Alchemist.

This season, the 35 of you (RIP luckystrike) will embark on a dangerous and dramatic quest through the element of fire. An unpredictable inferno has overtaken the Let’s Spoon universe, and only the most adept Spooners will be able to avoid the flames.

Wildfires will rage during each round in this phase of the game, and will temporarily prevent you from safely claiming your spoons. Those who attempt to claim a spoon during the daily wildfire time period will be "burned" -- and if they are burned 3 times, they will be automatically eliminated from the game.

Each round, below the challenge instructions, there will be a WILDFIRE WARNING posted. This warning will tell you when the wildfire begins. It will also tell you how long the wildfire will last.

For example, the warning might look like this:
The wildfire will begin after Spoon #10 and last for one hour.

That would mean that Spoons 1-10 are safe. As soon as Spoon 10 is claimed -- let's say at 9:10:23 PM -- the wildfire begins and will last for exactly one hour. If anyone tries to grab a spoon during this hour (even if they are spoon #11 one second after #10), they will face the consequences below. At 10:10:23 PM, the wildfire will be over, and the spoons can be safely claimed once more.

CONSEQUENCES
- The 1st time you spoon during the wildfire, you will be burned; however, you will still get your spoon.
- The 2nd time you spoon during the wildfire, you will be burned and you will NOT get your spoon. You must wait until the wildfire concludes.
- The 3rd time you spoon during the wildfire, you will be automatically eliminated from the game.

Do you risk it and try to spoon quickly before the wildfire strikes? Do you play it safe and wait? Do you take a sacrificial burn in order to get through a round, risking later elimination from 3 burns? Many strategies to consider!

The wildfire made its debut after spoon #26 (see post above), burning three members who got a bit too risky with their spooning. A few others waited patiently and secured their safety without a burn. Ultimately, another decently quick round for the start of the game, with the final spoon being claimed about 5 hours in.

Despite a super speedy victory by vulnific (<4 minutes), this was our longest round of the season so far... a few people seemed to forget to spoon until well after the wildfire passed.  Only two players were burnt by the flames -- with one, DevonRoars, getting a second burn.

Chaos was in the air last night! 11 people submitted for the challenge, but ultimately it was Touch It that came out on top. The wildfire struck earlier than ever before - after spoon #20 - and resulted in a mix of shocking decisions. Some risked it and were burned... others didn't read the rules... and some even elected to sacrifice themselves into the flames to claim their spoon. We had our first death by wildfire, with DevonRoars getting his third and final burn. He is now eliminated.

ROUND 5 RESULTS

The players were presented with a math equation, and let's just say it wasn't their favorite... After 30 minutes and a few hints, Seffers solved the problem! This made our 5th unique challenge winner in 5 rounds. Two people fell into the flames, while Tom Vercetti won a shield against the wildfire after being the first to correctly guess the threshold number. At the of this chaos, our Season 6 winner Legend E overslept his alarms and was sent packing #shockelimination -- another absolutely crazy round.
