Dante Silva Posted July 22 Posted July 22 (edited) Their musical styles are not similar, so I'd be curious as to how it's going to sequence/ hang together as a show. I'm loving the Debbie Harry picture in the background and wonder if it's an Easter egg. I was a fan of Ashlee's music mainly (not Jessica). I assume there are more who only liked the musical style of one? Do they hold enough appeal (in context of ticket sales though)? Or would their tour go the same way as J. Lo's ? They'd probably be smart enough not to do arenas. A few small theatre shows would work to test the waters. JLo was too ambitious. 1

SimpleKindofLife Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Never thought I'd have the opportunity to hear Irresistible or Pieces of Me live, I'll be the first in line to get my ticket
Dark Phoenix Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Oh, a joint tour mostly in theaters and amphitheaters would be fine, I think both still have enough fans so fill some dates. 2

ohjulia Posted July 22 Posted July 22 OMG MY TWO FAVES! Ashlee was my entire identity and Jessica's "In This Skin" album defined me.

Buffy Posted July 22 Posted July 22 She's had 20 years of vocal rest. I want to hear her attempt I Wanna Love You Forever.
Tm4074 Posted July 22 Posted July 22 (edited) I don't know how this will sell? It's not like either of them were selling out big arena tours during their peak two decades ago. Selling out shows even in theaters may be difficult for them since they never built a loyal audience/fan base in music. Both didn't do much to push their music catalogues to newer generations either so they will depend on ATRL's demographic and nostalgia to sell tickets lol. Ashlee really should have done more to push her music to newer generations even though she fell off by her third album. Autobiography is such a good album and a pop/rock classic from that era, imo. I was listening to it the other day and it still holds up. The SNL incident and Orange Bowl disaster really destroyed her career momentum which was unfortunate because she did have a solid artistic vision and despite not having Jessica's talent she was the better artist. Jessica had a ton of potential but desperately needed a vocal coach to teach her how to use her instrument properly and she lacked artistic vision. Ashlee's music will be carrying the tour for sure if it happens. She had 2 #1 albums on the Billboard 200 and Autobiography spent 3 weeks at #1. Jessica never reached those heights musically, closest she got was In This Skin (#2). Edited July 22 by Tm4074

I think they could perform similarly w the right nostalgia fueled promo?
WhateverYouWant Posted July 22 Posted July 22 (edited) It's a cool idea. I was a fan of both of them back in the day but I don't think I'd ever pay money to see this today. I'm not sure who's really willing to pay money to see this. Ticket prices would have to be dirt cheap and who knows if that would even be enough to fill the seats. Edited July 22 by WhateverYouWant

He went on 9 headlining tours since and opened for the Backstreet Boys on tour in 2005 & 2013 and opened for NKOTB in 2009. He's also a former teen idol and ex-act so his audience is more loyal despite him being musically irrelevant for decades. Jessica and Ashlee barely toured even during their peaks. I think they could potentially do some theaters in major markets if they have the proper nostalgia promo but it won't be easy since they never established a base during their prime years.

I don't think selling out theaters/amphitheaters would be unrealistic at all but I have no facts to support it lol
Sexyzinger Posted July 22 Posted July 22 That's a great idea and it's strange to think they didn't plan to do a joint tour before now. Seems like a no-brainer and I'd buy a ticket
ozlovezashlee Posted July 22 Posted July 22 I'd rather a solo Ashlee tour, but I'll take what I can get.
Exodus Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I don't know why people are clowning in here. Between them, they have 4 platinum albums and 12 Top 50 hits. That's more that can be said about tons of these tours. I'd be interested in going! 1
XtinaStripped Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I have no desire to see Jessica but would love to see Ashlee.
naval23 Posted July 23 Posted July 23 UGH THE SETLIST this could be omg With You and Pieces of Me alone
