artist stats US: 'TTPD' becomes Taylor's 10th & fastest album ever to sell 5M units (13 weeks)

It not only is the fastest album of this decade to reach this milestone, but is also the fastest Taylor Swift album ever to reach 5M units, doing it after only 13 weeks.  

 

'1989' also surpassed 5M in just 13 weeks since its release, but with the added caveat that this number also includes 2 months of pre-release units (source in Spoilers below).

4,399,000 units by the end of 2014 (9 weeks of release plus pre-release units)

Week 10: +244,000 (4,643,000)

Week 11: +155,000 (4,798,000)
Week 12: +131,000 (4,929,000)
Week 13: +119,000 (5,048,000)

 

As for her more recent studio albums, this is roughly how long it took for them to reach 5M SPS units in the US:

 

'TTPD': 3.5 months

Midnights: 8.5 months

'folklore': 3 years, 2 months

'Lover': 4 years, 9 months

'reputation': ~5 years, 2 months

'ever: more'

 

10 of all her 11 studio albums have now sold over 5M units in the US.

Olivia's Sour reached it in august of last year

Rihanna's Anti reached it in september of 2022

Cardi's IOP reached it in november of 2022
