Tom Vercetti Posted August 5 Posted August 5 PinkPantheress - The Aisle: Very catchy/groovy etc Beyoncé - Ya Ya: Not a fan of this (or the album in general) Perfume Genius - On the Floor: Solid Ava Max - Choose Your Fighter: I choose Sub Zero. Troye Sivan - Can't Go Back, Baby: Some questionable moments but overall it was chill and inoffensive. Cocteau Twins - Pitch the Baby: Good song from classic album. PinkPantheress - Ophelia: One of my least favorites from the album but I still like it a bit. Tove Lo - I Like U: It's pretty average Beabadoobee - Ever Seen: Doesn't hit me but not bad. Taylor Swift - I Wish You Would (Taylor's Version): No Kaiyko - End Now I See You: Oh wow, never heard this but it was a decent surprise. Janelle Monáe - 57821: A bit too minimal for my current listening experience, but at least she sounds good. Tinashe - Treason: Best song ever Azealia Banks - Liquorice: Still hits Avril Lavigne - Avalanche: =/ Didn't enjoy this one Kelela - All the Way Down: Best song ever [2] Ethel Cain - Sun Bleached Flies: Bored me Mandy Moore - Only Hope: Seriously? 2
ATRL Moderator Element Posted August 5 ATRL Moderator Posted August 5 ELEMENT'S REVIEWS PinkPantheress - The Aisle One of my top five songs from this album!! V nice. Beyoncé - Ya Ya I think it's fun and creative enough. It has an exuberant and memorable energy. It's probably in the middle of Cowboy Carter for me, and maybe will be middle of the pack here. Perfume Genius - On the Floor Forgot about him! This is really good. Ava Max - Choose Your Fighter This is kind of dire. Troye Sivan - Can't Go Back, Baby The dissonant sample has always thrown me off a bit. The rest of the song is really pretty. Will rank this well! Cocteau Twins - Pitch the Baby Cool vibe. It sounds fresh even though it's older than Staryu! PinkPantheress - Ophelia Honestly in my bottom two from this album... I just can't get into it. It's pretty though! Tove Lo - I Like U A middling song in Tove's discography, but thankfully that means it's still good!! A bop. Beabadoobee - Ever Seen First listen... I wasn't crazy about this. Second listen... I could start to get into it a bit. A grower. Taylor Swift - I Wish You Would (Taylor's Version) Pleasant enough but ultimately unimpressive. One of my least fave songs on 1989. Kaiyko - End Now I See You Unfortunately pretty dull. Janelle Monáe - 57821 I enjoyed this listen! It felt like I was on some epic quest through the countryside and had just entered some ancient monastery or hallowed ground. Very cool. Tinashe - Treason The production on this is so entrancing. Furthermore, it is vocally, lyrically, and melodically beautiful. 10/10 for you. Azealia Banks - Liquorice Overall enjoyable. Cool beat. I wouldn't listen to it on my own but it would be fun at the club. Avril Lavigne - Avalanche It's kind of crazy how her music regressed over time. Why are Let Go and Under My Skin full of great lyrics and melodies... and then years later we get generic Christian-esque rock from a 40 year old? Maybe the Melissa rumors were true. Kelela - All the Way Down Excellent. The production is just so phenomenal. Ethel Cain - Sun Bleached Flies She actually keeps your interest for the full time! It has a very anthemic and reflective quality that you can immerse yourself deeply into. Nice risk - hopefully it pays off. Mandy Moore - Only Hope I see a mix of commentary on this song, and I'm in the more positive camp. It's very pretty and nostalgic for me! They actually played it at some teen retreat I went on years ago and I was like omgggg what a throwback. I liked the song then and I like it enough still.
Prismee Posted August 5 Posted August 5 PinkPantheress - The Aisle My top 3 on this album Beyoncé - YA YA Best song on CC but unfortunately I haven't returned to it for a while Perfume Genius - On the Floor 10/10 Ava Max - Choose Your Fighter Um... Troye Sivan - Can't Go Back, Baby Thought this was my least fave on the album, but with a new listen it's pretty cute Cocteau Twins - Pitch the Baby Ok I'm listening PinkPantheress - Ophelia Cute! My top 3 on my album too wow she is serving in this list Tove Lo - I Like U It's fun but the chorus gets a bit tiring Beabadoobee - Ever Seen Cute girl I love her voice
Prismee Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Taylor Swift - I Wish You Would (Taylor's Version) Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, **** on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it Who sent this? I am simply saying I will give her #1 because she deserves the win rather than middle of the road critiques. As it's my right to say what I want. 1

Noah Posted August 5 Posted August 5 PinkPantheress - The Aisle - I like it. Very boppy Beyoncé - Ya Ya - huge bop. I relistened to this album recently and it's saur good (especially the second half) Perfume Genius - On the Floor - haven't listened to him in a bit but this is a cute song from him Ava Max - Choose Your Fighter - not feeling this one :( Troye Sivan - Can't Go Back, Baby - I like this one <3 Cocteau Twins - Pitch the Baby - nice song PinkPantheress - Ophelia - I prefer the other song from her but this isn't bad Tove Lo - I Like U - massive banger Beabadoobee - Ever Seen - pleasant bop Taylor Swift - I Wish You Would (Taylor's Version) - great song from a great album (also one of the good re-recordings from that album) Kaiyko - End Now I See You - I don't think I've heard of this artist before but I liked this Janelle Monáe - 57821 - this isn't bad by any means but I'm not sure how it will stack up against some of these other songs Tinashe - Treason - cute song Azealia Banks - Liquorice - one of the best songs ever Avril Lavigne - Avalanche - this isn't bad but it's not something I would seek out Kelela - All the Way Down - a bit of a classic Ethel Cain - Sun Bleached Flies - the first time I heard this song I wasn't really into it but then I heard the dancing on my own mashup and fell in love with it and now I'm kind of obsessed with the original too Mandy Moore - Only Hope - not awful but not for me strong round overall
Kelp Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Rachel Chinouriri - If Only: unfortunately not one of her best, not very melodically memorable and the instrumental was lush but not that interesting. Maybe @Seffers would like it more 1
