its pretty and gentle, has an old-school indie vibe (by this I mean like 2008-core indie ff). its very Starbucks free song of the week core. I think it's nice! I could see it in the middle or upper half depending on the playlist

I loooove this song and album!! Her recent work is pretty immaculate, she really is one of the most interesting and cool pop stars imo.. I love the production and atmospheric vibe of this, suits her super well

has a homey, nostalgic vibe to it which is nice. but it isn't really a standout I'd say. don't dislike it but nothing draws me to it specifically, might be in the lower middle idk

I don't normally care for her music/voice but I really liked the vibes from this when I heard t. it's super catchy and the production has a slight lo-fi quality that adds a lot of dimension. this is super cinematic in the sense that it would be great in a romantic/teen movie which I think is a great quality!!

dua lipa - happy for you

this song needs more love imo!! its definitely the best track from the album and one of her personal best. there's a euphoric vibe to the melody and the way the verses/chrous work together make it feel like a perfect capture of the vibe of "summer vacation". seriously the chorus hits so hard its amazing!

 

I also think this is the one track where the producer list including Danny L Harle actually makes sense.. there are aspects of his production flourishes that really elevate this to a different level. I almost wonder if she wanted something more in line with this vibe but it ended up being a compromise between her usual stuff? idk but either way I think this is like a poppier/summer smash version of stuff from Caroline's Desire album... great song

umm okay this is kind of a risk. I really like the vibes? the hyper pop flourishes in the production and the dark/moody electronic atmosphere paired with a whispery vocal. this was really cool~

its great honestly, this is her best album to me. it really captures a specific vibe in singer/songwriter that I connect with really easily. her lyrics and delivery are cool and I like the slight jazzy vibes. this is a great song!!

speaking of specific vibes I really like... this is pretty spectacular, I think she upgraded massively from her last album which was still pretty nice... but like this is all of the best aspects of her artistry together! it draws on the best aspects of 90s/00s Neo-soul but sort of builds off it? there's dreamy aspects that I really like, and ofc her vocals are as fluttery and magical as usual. amazing track and one of her best prob

I was surprised by this being pretty adult contemporary from her. it's fine, the beep boop production is kind of cool. but I don't click with her music whatsoever, its really weird

toni Braxton - spanish guitar

its funny this feels really nostalgic to me despite me not being sure ive heard it before? I think it maybe just captures that early 2000s vibe really well. I was pretty young at the time but I think it's resonating with me. 

 

overall its a little on the boring side but I like the whispery/smooth vibe so its not bad!

new Ariana album wasn't groundbreaking but it was pretty solid and cute. this is a fun bop, I need to get back into this album. this specifically reminds me the most of something from her firs album which is lowkey my fave of hers~
