Jody Watley - Always and Forever

I was hoping someone would send Jody - an extremely underrated artist! I'll echo that, yeah, this one is somewhat forgettable but it's not at all bad. This was a hard round when the singles from this era were definitely the highlights of the discography.

Liz Phair - **** and Run

Meh. I wasn't really feeling this one. Not something I'd ever seek out again intentionally and, again - there were better choices on this critically acclaimed album.

Billy Joel - Zanzibar

I'd rather be in Zanzibar right now :biblio: nothing wrong with recognizing legends but accepting that not everything they made is that enjoyable.

Bee Gees - More Than a Woman

A classic :clap3: I'm shocked to learn this wasn't a single as it's so universally well known. Smart choice!

Aaliyah - I'm So Into You

Lovely. A good description of Aaliyah and her music in general.

Anri - SHYNESS BOY

One of her best songs. Just perfect. The trumpets and that sax solo. Feels like it takes you back to a time when you were young, happy, and enjoying life.

POISON GIRLFRIEND - HARDLY EVER SMILE(without you): ohhh the vibes are lovely, the intro captivated me immediately (it was a bit long in the end but still very good)

Posted

Diana Ross - It's Your Move: it's a cutesy bop idk not much else to say in a good way

Posted

The Sundays - You're Not the Only One I Know: it's rather uninteresting and unappealing to me but I don't think it's bad at all

Posted

Toni Braxton - Love Affair: it was good at the beginning but then it got pretty repetitive and boring

Posted

ABBA - If It Wasn't For the Nights: pretty fun!! a bit too long (as every single song from the 80s) but I really like it overall

Posted

Slowdive - When The Sun Hits: see I know it was the 90s and I know this genre is supposed to be drowned in reverb and flangers and I love me some shoegaze but this is just a clump of noise :deadbanana: the song itself doesn't suck but it was not enjoyable to listen

Posted

Selena - El Chico Del Apartamento 512: my latina ass is obviously biased towards this, a childhood classic that will be getting high points from me x

Posted

TLC - Kick Your Game: pretty middle of the road for me, it's just fine

Posted

Cocteau Twins - Cherry-coloured Funk: *looks at Slowdive* are you taking notes? :WAP:  I wish I sent this so bad honestly, I thought it was a single or something so it never really crossed my mind, incredible song

Posted

The Cardigans - Celia Inside: this was different and quite interesting!! I like it more than mostly everything so far :minho:

Posted

The Bangles - Some Dreams Come True: I will be passing love

Posted

Sade - Like a Tattoo: this is an absolutely STUNNING song, so soothing and silky and gorgeous like everything Sade does

Posted

Portishead - Roads: this was a lovely listen!! I loved how the production kept progressing and it kept growing, quite stunning song

Posted

Paula Abdul - Rock House: you fell into the Auburn trap of sending mid 90s Pop... it was good but there's several better songs in here
