When will labels learn that constantly delaying and delaying albums in an attempt to chase a hit that may never come will *never* work? 
 

Artists cannot build fan bases and start touring if they don't have a body of work out there for people to consume. Hopefully it's not a significant delay and hopefully the plan of FUFN/album announcement next month hasn't changed.

I haven't watched the whole podcast (and this may be slightly off topic) but hearing her speak about Jesy was heartbreaking. You could tell she meant a lot to her and it was nice that she spoke about her own feelings rather than taking the opportunity to insult Jesy in any way.

 

I cackled at her response when he asked her about Boyz, that media training is impeccable

Omg her label is a MESS  they messed up the drops, missed out on taking up the hype of IT Girl right after AOMD and now are pushing the album to nearly summer...

Seeing as the interview was recorded in December and they updated the chatbot just last week to start answering questions about the album, I'm thinking a date exists now, even if it's May. Maybe the announcement will happen with FUFN?

Just because this strategy of constant delays ended up working somehow for Dua back in 2017 doesn't mean it can work for everybody 

 

Constantly delaying the album doesn't work in general, you're just killing off the hype for the GP. Dua was lucky to have New Rules which finally broke her into the mainstream but Jade may not have the same chance. Labels are so dumb these days i swear, they have no real strategy anymore, just hoping for a last minute hit so they can finally release the album

How can 3 girls from one of the biggest girl groups of this generation ( in UK at least )  couldn't sign a contract saying that the album will come out with the 1st single 

 

Releasing the 1st single in July 2024 and HOPING to release the album in May 2025 while having half of the album already out as droplets is really sad 

 

And what is even crazier is that Jade was the least pushed ( radio and live performances ) of the 3 and had the best results and still cannot get a date 

 

 

As for the Boyz comment i liked how she replied , seems like she had an issue also with Jesy doing all the blackfishing stuff 🤔

May seems far away, but getting the release date when FUFN comes out in Feb doesn't seem that dramatic. As time went on it was obvious the album wasn't coming in Q1 anyway or it would be announced by now

IT girl is doing minus 3 streams as of right now so I can't say I'm shocked

 

It's not only that though, she said the deadline the label gave her to finish the tracklist was January 1st and they probably wanna have vinyls ready by release day, so she's to blame for that

May is too far. Almost a year after Angel of My Dreams. They've already released 4 songs and to maintain momentum until May, they will need at least 2 more, if not 3. A drawn out rollout would make sense if she had no buzz to begin with but we were ALL gagged and perched the moment Angel dropped and she has the LM fans. I'm not saying the album would have sold 100k copies if it dropped in October/November, but... she was in a position to release earlier. Especially if the rollout was Angel -> It Girl -> FUFN. As much as I LOVE Cowboy and Fantasy, they clearly took some wind out of her sails.

Also, A LOT of videos on Tik Tok using this sound are currently being pushed as Ads and it's so unclear to me whether it's the creators doing it, or whether the label is paying for it.. it's so random  the videos aren't actually promoting anything lol
