No? Well, neither would the GP. But do you wanna hear songs like Holiday for the millionth time?
byzantium Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Depends on the artist. I think Swifties would prefer an album track only tour while the Navy would probably want to hear a lot of the hits.
ShadeIena Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Selena refused to perform The Heart Wants What It Wants on the Revival Tour because how emotional and powerful that song was for her
BrokenMachine Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Hopefully. I can't stand P!nk, Lana and Xtina performing the same songs over and over in the last ten years. Madonna tries to play a little more with it, and I remember Melanie Martinez refused to perform her biggest songs on tour and just gave space to the current album + 3 or 4 old songs
Erreur2 La Nature Posted July 19 Posted July 19 90% of people going to concerts are from the gp. They mostly only know artists' singles and that's completely normal. Artists have to perform their most famous songs. 1
Just a Gay on ATRL Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Who would want this tbh? When I go to an artists show, I don't need every single hit they've ever had, but I do need a couple quintessential songs. Like, at minimum the signature hits. Imagine going to a Madonna show without Vogue, a Gaga show without Bad Romance, a Bey show without Crazy In Love. They are MUSTS. I get keeping the old songs to a minimum on certain tours but doing a tour with none of their hits would be disappointing.
Soda Pop Queen Posted July 19 Posted July 19 (edited) Vets with cult followings or artists small enough to get away with it can do whole concerts of deep cuts and less popular singles. Kylie did this with her Anti-tour but notice, it was brief with only 7 shows and in small venues. I don't think promoters will book/pay for popular artists to perform none of their hits at all. discosean Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Probably not. There are some exceptions to this, but for the casual fan, it might not go over so well to do stuff the audience won't be as familiar with or not at all. Kylie Minogue once did a smaller scale tour where she did deep cuts, album tracks, b-sides, and non-album tracks. It was intentionally announced and promoted that way so there would be no question about what sort of show that was and it did quite well. Madonna incorporated a decent amount of album tracks into her tours from Drowned World through Sticky & Sweet, especially if she was supporting an album. She also did those one off Tears Of A Clown shows which incorporated some of those.
Alldeezy Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Chester did that on his last Australian tour before he past away
Popboi. Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Most of concert goers are casuals who want the hits, this shouldn't even be a question
Rotunda Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Sometimes I wonder if you're actually this dumb or if you're just playing a character on here.
