I actually find that they all want to be alike? In a way we haven't seen since the Boomers ("keeping up with the Joneses").

Seriously so many of them seem to have the same personality, and they're really timid about going against the grain or having a different viewpoint than their peers about anything. Super shy and unassertive about this. Millennials weren't the same when we were their age, we really wanted to assert our individuality.

Trends are always going to be a thing, but they seem to be the most vocal about nonconformity—with how they challenge certain processes that millennials just went and largely go along with. That's just what it seems like to me. I often joke that millennials are just tired, at this point, and just go along with things. Being that Gen Z is still up-and-coming, I feel like they just have more vigor about not conforming to society and how it works.

Tbf millennials did lay a substantial amount of the groundwork for Gen Z to thrive, especially from a political standpoint when it comes to progressivism

Almost everything I see from Gen Z is a copy and paste of what was done on tumblr in the 2010s but the only difference is a lot of discussions such as progressivism towards queer people, racism, intersectional feminist, discussions of gender etc. were universally mocked when millennials did it in an era of the internet that had unfiltered racism and homophobia.

Now those same discussions go viral on TikTok and have substantially more support

This! Many of their (correct) takes I have already seen and been spouting since the 2010s, it was just considered too extreme and "woke" back then.
