Ofc I'd like to talk with them about pop culture, but 1000x not talking about that than having someone constantly switchimg between my face and a phone on a date. I deeply hate it. And the worse is that most of them don't even notice they do it. I literally want to throw them out the window. 2
Happylittlepunk Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Gen-z biggest contribution is going to be tik tok when it comes to pop culture. In a couple of years the media and entertainment as a whole will start focusing on gen-alpha I would say by 2026- future things will change and we start seeing the new kids take over. gen-z biggest problem is that there nihilism, collectivism, and rehashing past pop culture decades severely limited them creatively. They in a way gen-z will be seen as a better version of gen x where they be remembered a bit more but still be forgotten or see as flops by upcoming generations. You see the signs already by gen alpha who seem more assertive and even make fun of gen-z. Not too mention the younger generation seem too be the complete opposite of gen-z. Like another user said each generation of contribution in pop culture is reflected on there generations music artists and truly shows. Just simply how bigger and more memorable millennial music artist are vs gen-z artist. 1

We are more individualistic and feel more comfortable just being ourselves now. This is why you see millennials still do their own things when it comes to fashion, make-up, hair styles etc. Vs gen-Z who just follow trends. Not too mention we millennials are busy with jobs, families, and friends now too. 2
nicaindo Posted July 19 Posted July 19 gen-z gave stardom to taylor swift so ofc millennials are way better
Prisoner Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Gen z. Our depressive suicidal vibe>>>>>>millenials fake depression emo cringe 1
Princessa Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Gen Z can't even explain how the water come out the tap, the electricity out the powerpoint, the sun rising and setting. The first of the generational cessation in being able to hold attention for +6 seconds (whilst needing to finger an iPad) 2

Exactly, not people acting like this is a bad thing You get way less mental health issues not caring about the latest pop culture trends or news that's completely meaningless and will be cringe 10 years from now anyway If I wasn't on ATRL, I'd probably have no idea about 90% of current pop culture Chappel Roan, Kendrick vs Drake, even Katy releasing something and flopping, etc. 1

Hell I probably wouldn't even still be on twitter. I was actually thinking of deactivating it until earlier this year. ATRL was literally the reason I knew about Woman's World otherwise I would've been like :"Katy released a song?!" a few weeks from now.

What does "having a life" prevent someone from having a personality? Just cuz we don't pay attention to every negative thing in our lives doesn't mean we don't pay attention at all. You'll learn when you actually grow up. 1

If you thought you can get away with saying this with your limited worldview cuz you're basing an entire generation based on a very incorrect opinion, you're wrong. If you wanted me to "move along", you should just give me a down vote and keep your mouth shut cuz obviously most of this thread disagrees with you.
