Mbappe brought this to himself

He attacked football is south america in Brazil. That's why a lot of people hate him here

"In South America, football is not as advanced as in Europe, that's why when you look at the last World Cups it's always Europeans who win."

And then he lost the world cup to Argentina

If a pop girl did this they would be dragged forever. His comments were already problematic

Nobody hates Mbappé in Brazil and us Brazilians still think Argentines have huge issue with racism and the worst excuses and defenses when it comes to it so leave us out of it lol

I am pretty aware of that?

More than 50% of ATRLs are probably "americans" and they are exposed to this conflict between Europe and Latin America.

If they are going to have an opinion in this thread related to racism from Argentina to France , which I'm probably they will, it's proper to have a deeper and international understanding of racism and discrimination.

It's easy to insult harass a whole country for bad behavior of some individuals but not understanding the whole concept of third world country vs first world country, which is something mbappe mentioned about Latin America being inferior.

It's so disgusting how Argentins keep with this "omg stop trying to Americanize the discourse when you say we're racist" when French and Brazilians and pretty much any country with a significant black population thinks you guys are racist. Way to double down on the ignorance.

Basically this. Argentina has a lot of issues but it is one of the most advanced countries in all things diversity, leading the region in immigration and LGBTQ+ legislation and has always been: In fact the reason why there are not many dark skinned people in the country, contrary to the historically and scientifically inaccurate genocide narrative that's being pushed the last couple years, is that Argentina abolished slavery in 1812 (50 years before USA and 75 years before Brazil) so enslaved Africans stopped being forced into the country over 200 years ago and the liberated slaves were assimilated and eventually mixed with Criollos.

As for the chant, I hated it from day one and I still think it is disgusting, but these type of chants are sadly very typical because it is just part of the country folklore. What matter though is that it doesn't really have a reflection in society, you can tell someone a slur as a joke and then grab a beer immediately after and nobody will be mad because you can spot the intentionality in the word. I rather live in a country where you can be teased for whatever rather than one that gets inflammated by a joke but has dark

skinned people shot at or suffocated to death, where gestating people cannot abort or the LGBT community doesn't have the same marriage conditions than heterosexual partners.

I love the Argentine logic where they ending slavery 75 years before Brazil and 50 years before the US justifies their population being less than 1% black versus 55% in Brazil and 15% in the US.

Then they're like "yeah, because miscigenation was normal here". Yes, darling, so was in Brazil, and yet we have a huge black population either way.

Like, the racism is alarming but when you read the arguments online you also realize how they learn about history in Argentina must be terrible too.

Ugh it's so fun to see people defend European countries when they are the sole cause third world countries can't develop (and they keep exploiting them with modern tools and media manipulation)

Never change ATRL

The arrogance and stupidity of Argentineans in full display.

No one is defending EUROPEAN COUNTRIES. We're defending BLACK EUROPEAN PLAYERS that CAME FROM COLONIZED COLONIES and were VICTIMS OF RACISM FROM ONE ARGENTINE PLAYER.

We couldn't give less of a **** about European countries. Literally no one would argue France and any other European country isn't widely racist. The only one trying to deny racism here is you. Anyone who has any doubt about how far Argentina racism problem goes just need to read your posts tbqh.

Enzo apologised and it's a big lesson for him and a lot of people. I'm pretty sure he regrets doing it and thinks different now. What else would be necessary? Back lashes in a public square?

You gotta practice what you preach tho. It's just as ignorant, intolerant and pretty xenophobic to refer to an entire country as "stupid" and "disgusting", lol :bam:

This thread is a nightmare. The amount of xenophobia and hasty generalizations...

The AUDACITY of Americans calling us racist when we abolished slavery in 1813 by law (Law of Wombs). We didn't need a bloody Civil War to do it, we didn't have racial segregation that last until the 1960s (at least), we receive immigrants from all countries with open arms (they can even access our free colleges/universities and hospitals).

You're just a bunch of XENOPHOBES pretending to be progressive...

That's why we have people from all over the region come study for free and have free healthcare, and most people choose Argentina because it's possible to have a better life (even considering the big economic problems we have).

Every country has their fair share of racism. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...

OT: This is related to the typical case of the first world attacking third-world countries and latinos being considered "inferior". While it's not right and I agree that Argentine players should be held accountable for their statements, let's not forget that this is an underlying issue that gets overlooked by football matches and competition.

Lmao, sorry, but the country clearly has a stupidity problem when you see every single Argentinean poster here trying to deflect from the racism and trying to ban everyone else instead of simply admitting Enzo was racist. Either that or racism. The action of the Argentineans here paint a very clear picture, huh? I am not judging Argentina by Enzo's actions. I am judging Argentina but how Argentineans reacted from the criticism Enzo got, INCLUDING HERE.

The dude (and the whole team) was absurdly racist and instead you guys tried to blame: France, Europeans, Americans, everyone being xenophobic, etc. Don't you see the issue?

Dude, you literally downvoted me for saying defending black players from colonized countries isn't "defending France". Pretty bold of you to pretend as if you aren't racist.

Edit: no, seriously, my favorite bit is @NausAllienliterally defending racist comments while crying about "xenophobia". Dude, if you don't want to be called a racist -- by people from all over the planet -- have you tried not acting like a racist and trivializing racism?

It's also funny to me how the whole Messiah complex Argentineans have. In their mind, literally the whole planet -- Brazilians, Colombians, French, US Americans -- is united against them due to xenophobia. But for what reason exactly? How arrogant do you have to be to cause a terrible impression on people from all over the world over your racist actions and still think you are not the problem lmao. You guys think a bunch of gays in ATRL who clearly dgaf about football are going after you because we're jealous or something? Like....
