This (now deleted) tweet on Twitter has sparked an interesting discussion on Taylor's hit-making abilities outside of her stan base. What do we think?

No, and posting tweets as some sort of proof of a conversation topic is just plain dumb, sorry sis.

Depends on which culture and demographic. Does she have the undeniable, demographically diverse name-recognition of someone like Beyoncé, Madonna or Shakira? I would say no.

However, does everybody born after at least 1995 know who she is? I would say absolutely. She's a generational artist for now but undeniably she go down in history as a cross-generational artist.

Yes, particularly outside the US.

Yes, she lacks cultural footprint. She also lacks talent in both lyrical and vocal categories. The only reason she has fans is because they can look at her and say "She's mediocre, why should I try to be anything but?"

Midnights felt like a big era that you couldn't escape. TTPD feels like a bts album except with even more malicious chart and fandom manipulation tactics. I've yet to hear any song out of it and anyone talk about it outside of pop circles.

What makes your opinion more valid than the tweet or the 13k people who agreed?

Because there will be multiple others of people who disagree. Who's correct?

Honey you know perfectly that's not true. But we get it, you need a daily circle jerk of OTH discussing her lack of culture impact based in that your grandmother from a lost village in Latvia doesn't know her.

For every 100K people who dislike her (by interactions with a "negative" post online,) there are probably another 2-3-400K that enjoy her (measured by interactions with a "positive" post about her online, or hell by consuming her music.)

Neither opinion is more or less "valid" but you can't act like "the majority opinion" is one thing when the data says the opposite
