truthteller Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Not even white corporate feminism office ladies demo could save her at this point
Popular Post LoveInStereo Posted July 12 Popular Post Posted July 12 I was expecting the usual suspects to brigade the thread with "critics have never gotten Katy!" but I guess they've wisened up enough to realize that's a bullshit defence in the face of the arguments presented in this review. Ya, she's never been a critical darling but this is bad even for her standards. There's no way to explain this away. Everything about this campaign is garbage 19 2

I miss the days when she was super petty, like returning to Spotify on Katy's album release day. This would've been a perfect day to bully Katy. Make up with her for … what? Why were they feuding? 1 1
iHype. Posted July 12 Posted July 12 It's definitely a weak song, but tbh I started thinking how it reminds me of "Break My Soul" and pondered exactly how Beyonce got such universal acclaim with also a dated 2016 sounding Dance-Pop empowerment song as her comeback single "Break My Soul" was the most acclaimed song of 2022 period and yet this is a disaster on the ears to the same critics This song unironically once again shows how useless and agenda driven critics are honestly 4 1 1 10 16

Let's not forget that she is additionally getting lashed for supporting Kesha's abuser. This is not some 'she is getting panned just because she always gets panned' type of situation. If Katy made an empowerment song with the lyrics "queens to the front, doms to the back" yall would be calling it the corniest and cringe attempt at pandering ever I already said I agree the song actually is forgettable and weak, however I've seen the critics also go crazy for **** like "Break My Soul" which just makes it ironic when they lash this. 2 3 1

You're not lying. It just goes to show how difficult it is nowadays for pop girls to get panned like this. Katy is truly one-of-a-kind. 16
perfillusion Posted July 12 Posted July 12 This is the worst song of all time. 15+ years in the game and she STILL couldn't find her own sound. The way she couldn't wait to get back to Dr Luke only for him to give her the Kim Petras rejects 6 1 6
Lil' Oz Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Honestly, I would have supported Katy but she completely messed this comeback up by working with L*ke. This era was cursed from the very beginning. Anyway, let me stream Joyride. 4

Popular Post alexrex Posted July 12 Popular Post Posted July 12 I think she deserves the lashings after working again with Dr Luke. You can be a bad artist, but people can still love you if you are a nice person. But I think being a bad artist, and on top of that being a mean person, that's when people draw the line. 23 4

bliaz Posted July 12 Posted July 12 It was obvious what was coming. She's very dumb. But at least there seems to be better choices on the album to be singles.
kellebrity98 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 (edited) this review is so unprofessional and chase for clout. Critics used to be professionals but now as i see in America everyone can be a critic who's not an illiterate. I agree that the song isn't good, very generic but this review is just as garbage as the song. Edited July 12 by kellebrity98 3 14
