Love Bites and Corazon already were sounding like two separate songs from different albums and when I heard rest of this album I feel nothing sounds like Love Bites and Corazon. The Ride clicked during first listen (YES. I like THE RIDE) with this album so far I'm a little bit confused what she tried to did here. It has some interesting ideas, but if The Ride (or even any of the others really) were (metaphorically) simmered to perfection in a slow cooker, this album feels like it was done in a microwave. It's very uneven, at times the songs sounding like unfinished demos, at times sounding like the production was dated back to 2018-19, and at times feeling very current but lacking that little extra layer of oomph to really make it pop off. So far, this album is kinda sitting at a 1.5/2 out of 5 stars for me which is low considering The Ride was a 4.5 out of 5 for me at first listen.
