Ok, the plot sounds interesting, hope they make it justice.

SO SO perched :jonny5: The original still feels fresh after 18 years. And it'll be great to see Meryl on the big screen again.

That sounds so interesting! Interesting that Anne's been playing a lot of Miranda style roles now.

Anne Hathaway would be devastated if they only bring back Meryl and Emily. Creatively their storylines have a lot to fill while Anne's character felt concluded at the end of the film.

a sequel is not needed but it kinda sounds interesting, here for it :jonny5:

She was in both Mamma Mia movies though (and wants to come back for the third movie, somehow)...

Anne would sign up asap, but yeah a Miranda/Emily centered movie would lend itself more to the fashion aspect.

Andy can be an editor/writer for Vanity Fair or WWD and she's the one who breaks out a big story or something.

Would be ideal is life imitates art and Anna is on her way out too as this is being released. :eddie:

That plot sounds weird

Tho the sequel books wouldn't be very meryl friendly as Miranda's barely in them

I'm here for it but I say NO to Nate

Between the announcement of this and the Practical Magic sequel it's been a big month of nostalgia bait for millennial girls and gays.

I don't even care how bad it may be. The first one is absolutely immaculate. A perfect movie. They can do whatever they want. I'm here for it.

I think this could be a really fun campy mess where Emily doesn't give her the $$, Miranda goes to hell on earth to end her career and then eventually the two makeup, Miranda retires and gives Emily the magazine.

They could throw in Andrea whose tasked with a takedown article by her editor around Miranda because her editor wants to write a cancel culture piece, gets wrapped up in the mess. Andrea then quits her job and goes to work with Emily at the revamped Runaway which now has a section dedicated to the everyday women haha.

The first one didn't need to be touched at all. I'll watch since the original is my favorite movie of all time, but I'm scared ngl

I was actually very apprehensive when I first read this headline, but the premise seems to have a lot of potential.

I think this is one classic where a sequel might actually make sense. There are so many interesting places they could go with showing the decline of print media and how Miranda deals with losing her influence. I trust Meryl would not have signed on if the script wasn't good so I'm cautiously optimistic.
