byzantium Posted July 8 Posted July 8 For me, it is when their touring power =\= their current commercial power. When people are largely going to pay to see an artist regardless of whether they are familiar with their most recent work, the artist in my mind is cashing in on their legacy and thus a legacy artist. I think very very few artists achieve this status so it's quite an achievement but some people who are there are: Lady Gaga Katy Perry Pink Madonna Beyoncé and Taylor are notable because. They are both current and legacy artists at the same time. This is why their tours were supercharged and the two biggest female tours of all time.
UnusualBoy Posted July 8 Posted July 8 When they take more time between each release and don't really care for charts or at least to promote their ****.
