Are you surprised that GUTS is getting outstreamed by Olivia's debut? Which album do you prefer?

Guts was her Emotions. The next album will be her Music Box.

"Sour" is consistently stronger and more concise (than "GUTS"). However, there is no reason why the studio sessions for Olivia's third album won't be way more creatively inspired than those of "Sour".

The biggest debut album of the decade and like top 3 biggest overall albums of the decade is outstreaming the sophomore slump that is barely top 10 biggest female albums of the decade? What a surprise!

GUTS has had a great run but SOUR is just huge

I mean, SOUR is the most streamed album by a female artist of all time for a reason. Its success is unprecedented.

Surprised by what? Sour was a massive success with many streaming hits.

No, cause 'SOUR' is better. :ninja:

This expectation that each album MUST be bigger than the previous is so weird. Sour was a gigantic album cycle with multiple decade-defining songs and Olivia not being able to immediately replicate that isn't weird at all.

Umm no lol

Sour is one of those generation-defining albums. It has 2 MEGA smashes on it + 2 other official hits with solid longevity (traitor and Deja Vu). GUTS had one big hit and 2 minor hits (bad idea right and get him back).

Regardless, both albums are doing amazingly. Her third album will probably be bigger than GUTS, as any follow up was gonna pale in comparison to her massive debut (same "issue" Billie had). When your debut is as huge as theirs were, you kinda HAVE to go down for a little. It's unsustainably big

I don't understand this need to define GUTS as this massive underperformance when it did and is doing better than most other albums released in this climate. Billie had the same thing happen with HTE and look how her third album is doing. Once y'all free yourselves from stream totals and chart positions I bet you'll become much happier people

Yeah when all is said and done GUTS will be at the very least 3x Platinum for a while and future Olivia releases might even boost it. Not many albums are reaching that threshold and it's already near double platinum in less than a year. It's still streaming well, too. People just want to put Liv down

Don't count her out yet. OR3 could be her pop era (without the rock elements), and she'll for sure smash again :jonny5:

Guts streams are actually impressive considering only Vampire was a hit.
