KatyPrismSpirit Posted July 7 Posted July 7 (edited) From her 13 career nominations, Katy Perry has sadly never won a Grammy award. She is one of the artists, amongst Lana Del Rey and Nicki Minaj who are in my opinion beyond overdue for a Grammy Award. Let's rewind her career nominations and see which Grammys Katy should've actually won: 57th Annual Grammy Awards: Best Pop Vocal Album: PRISM, lost to In the Lonely Hour by Sam Smith Best Pop/Duo Group Performance: "Dark Horse" feat. Juicy J, lost to "Say Something" by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera 56th Annual Grammy Awards: - Song of the Year: "Roar", lost to "Royals" by Lorde - Best Pop Solo Performance: "Roar", lost to "Royals" by Lorde 55th Annual Grammy Awards: - Best Pop Solo Performance: "Wide Awake", lost to "Set Fire To The Rain (Live)" by Adele 54th Annual Grammy Awards: - Record of the Year: "Firework", lost to "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele - Best Pop Solo Performance: "Firework", lost to "Someone Like You" by Adele 53rd Annual Grammy Awards: - Album of the Year: Teenage Dream, lost to The Suburbs by Arcade Fire - Best Pop Vocal Album: Teenage Dream, lost to The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga - Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals: "California Gurls" feat. Snoop Dog, lost to "Imagine" by Herbie Hancock, P!nk, Seal, Jeff Beck & Oumou Sangré, India Arie - Best Female Pop Vocal Performance: "Teenage Dream", lost to "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga 52nd Annual Grammy Awards: - Best Female Pop Vocal Performance: "Hot N' Cold", lost to "Halo" by Beyoncé 51st Annual Grammy Awards: - Best Female Pop Vocal Performance: "I Kissed A Girl", lost to "Chasing Pavements" by Adele Edited July 7 by KatyPrismSpirit

Bends Posted July 7 Posted July 7 "Prism" for Best Pop Vocal Album. "Dark Horse" for Best Pop/Duo Group Performance.
State of Grace. Posted July 7 Posted July 7 (edited) Not a single one of her nominations. In each category that she lost, there were better material. Closest is probably Wide Awake, but Set Fire To The Rain is better than Katy's career. Edited July 7 by State of Grace. 5 3 1

Happylittlepunk Posted July 7 Posted July 7 She lost fair and square. Every nomination she had there better albums or songs. She just need to try harder to write better music. 2
KatyPrismSpirit Posted July 7 Author Posted July 7 Idc but she was robbed from winning Best Pop Duo with California Gurls. Like why tf did a random cover of Imagine by all those khias won instead 7
oli more Posted July 7 Posted July 7 To me California Gurls shouldve won that grammy. I dont even know which song is "Imagine"… other than that unfortunately all the other grammies she lost were deserved.
gustavothehuman Posted July 7 Posted July 7 California Gurls and PRISM, maybe Wide Awake too since it lost to a re-recording.
liquiddiamonds Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Telephone was nominated the same year as California Gurls, so Katy is not even the runner-up there. Best case would've been Dark Horse, but Say Something is exactly the type of duet the Grammy loves to reward. The rest she lost fair and square. She didn't deserve the win.
bad guy Posted July 7 Posted July 7 When stans say she deserves a Grammy they must have not seen the nominations because she lost all of these fair and square. Her only shot was in the Pop Duo category, which I feel like has warmed up to pop stars much more over the years than in 2010-2011. 2

Nightingale Posted July 7 Posted July 7 None. Maybe the Imagine song shouldn't have won but even then California Gurls isn't much of a classic Grammy song.
genio Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Best Pop Vocal Performance for I Kissed A Girl & Best Collaboration for California Gurls should have been hers 1
Mocha Posted July 7 Posted July 7 something for TOTGA and TD (song) for sure, doesn't matter who they're up against from that year
