ATRL Moderator Juánny Posted July 7 ATRL Moderator Posted July 7 The metric isn't irrelevant as the Swifties are saying, but it also isn't a be all and end all. It means many / a similar number (~90m) unique accounts played Billie and Taylor in the past 30 days. All this metric is telling us is that a similar number of people are streaming Billie and Taylor currently on the platform. But, it is very impressive for an artist like Billie, who is a "newer" artist, to have a similar number of people streaming her as Taylor, who is arguably the biggest artist in the world currently. Good for her. 2
mercurialworld Posted July 7 Posted July 7 it's so crazy to see her rise of fame being that i knew her when she had less than 40k followers on ig and she was besties with my bestie congrats queen
TouchinFree Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Well Billie has a very versatile audience transcending to multiple cultures and ethnicities. 3
elincomprendid Posted July 7 Posted July 7 It's funny people use the discography size excuse as if the #4 & #5 artists didn't basically have a similar discography size Billie — 4 albums Post Malone — 5 albums Sabrina — 5 albums And clearly none of Sabrina listeners come from whatever her first 4 albums are. Yeah monthly listeners isn't a meaningless metric but nowadays is just all about: 1) Autoplay/Smart Shuffle (bringing new people that usually wouldn't play you) 2) Playlisting (bringing new people that usually wouldn't play you) 3) Having a big single (keeping people, cause albums don't usually have the same stability as songs plus singles usually have better WW reach than albums) 4) Collaborations (extend your reach over your usual audience) You can have all that and end almost anyone in the ML department. Sabrina has a bigger ML peak than Bad Bunny and no one with 2 brain cells would think that she is a bigger artist than him 1 1
Triton Posted July 7 Posted July 7 What happened to supporting women? Isn't the #1 the real devil?! This is screaming misogyny!! Congrats Billie!
liam13 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 4 hours ago, Burn said: not swiftys saying "this metric is meaningless" when they are usually ALL about stats. apart from when it doesn't go in their favour, i guess. think about it. swifties "are all about stats" but even swifties don't care about this irrelevant metric. why should yall? cuz taylor went down a spot?
LVP Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Is it also meaningless that Billies 10 tracks album has been more streamed weekly (for 7 weeks) than Taylor's 31 tracks album?
Cooper Posted July 7 Posted July 7 It's a bit of a whatever metric. But matterless of that it's great for Billie to be so high. May it long continue.
yourcloud Posted July 7 Posted July 7 (edited) She deserved and cleared xx Edited July 7 by yourcloud

Miley Cyrus Posted July 7 Posted July 7 (edited) Just like Godley did in 2023 with 1 track 10 tracks did that! Yay Billie Edited July 7 by Miley Cyrus 1

We are consistent. We know what stats are impressive and which ones are not.
