cute bop! :jamming: giving superlove vibes

they are clearly aiming for a tik tok hit with this so they better promote it hard on that platform.

it's cute but silly. I see they're lost direction to get a hit. hope this ends well they're too talented to get shelved.

None of the singles after 3 of Us EP clicked for me :michael:

This seems a bit silly and childish

Their best single. Infectious. I've had this on repeat since it dropped. It would be great with a verse from a fun rapper in the spirit of Natina from Blaque, Lefteye/TLC, Kiely/3LW. Like someone lighthearted, a pop undertone, fast spitting, high pitched voice. Skating rink summer jam.

3 of Us was too safe (though it wasn't supposed to be a centered project of any sort). Their post 3 of Us music has shown nothing but versatility. Let them have fun for once since literally Cardboard Box. They're in their early 20s.

I'm absolutely loving this single which is surprising since I didn't love the snippet. I need them to be booked and performing this everywhere. They need a hit badly and this song has everything it takes to be one.

Yeah, it was a pretty safe EP but it has replay value. None of the tracks after that stuck with me. Cute for min and that's about it. Most of the thread likes the track, so y'all better keep it on replay so they can get that damn album out. They're too talented to be shelved.

Did they change management since their debut EP? Genuinely asking because the rollout after Not My Job is a bit confusing.

I adore Superlove so this is a real tease for me. Still I won't listen to the song. I'm sick of the no album situation. I'll listen to it whenever it drops (if it drops)

The video made me like the song a little more.

I'm a little surprised by how much I enjoyed this, because the initial snippet simply wasn't it for me. The production on the first verse in particular does really sell it for me, it's a cute song. I also revisited Caught Up as well which I thought was also pretty nice.

I am SO confused about what is happening with their career at the moment, though. What's the strategy? What market are they aiming for? What promotion have they got to boost their profile in said market? IMO they'd be much better off moving to the US and focusing on building a profile there because the UK is simply not here for this sound, sadly.

I feel like they had some real momentum behind them when they came out with Cardboard Box, but ever since then it's been one false start after another. I don't understand why they're still dropping these random songs with no album in sight?

They're too talented to be mismanaged like this, it's a shame to see them not quite flourishing the way they should be by now.

They're losing momentum fast; I hate to see it. What's the objective with them? Their target audience is small based on their current sound. They went from 2000 to 2006 with this Ciara-inspired cut, but it's forgettable. Where is their Bills Bills, Bills, Jumpin Jumpin, Say My Name, Bring It All, 808, No More, No Scrubs, Baby, Baby, Baby etc? If that can't get mainstream success, they should be aiming for acclaim. Cause right now, they went from DC potential to insert random flop girl group. It's giving Before Dark Monica. It was a bop, but it did nothing for the longevity of the group.

Truth be told, long waits hurt new artists. What happens is, they give a lot of material over the span of a couple of years that it feels like they're on their 3rd album. When they do release, usually 2-3 years later, the public is overwhelmed. They should have release Cardboard, The EP, and then dropped an album hit or not.

I really HOPE the team has something planned for this song, cause I really think it could be that song that takes them to new heights commercially.

Like that chorus is tailor made for BOTH Radio and TikTok, it hasn't left my head since I heard it !

This is cute but I agree they don't seem to have a strategy and they keep losing hype/momentum

Yeah I love them but they're a textbook case. And I'm frustrated because I bet they've wanted one out since 2022. Early 2023 would've worked. You just know the label said no.

Even if it flopped any album these days could have viral potential. Look at Brat or anyone who blows up now. But now no ones checking for droplets that don't go anywhere. With an underperforming album there were more songs to check out but the label won't invest in case of a loss and now we're stuck here.

Love the song and got to meet the girls last year in a meet and greet but yeaaaah I don't see the album coming. If it does it'll be Normani'd. They're very special to me anyway but I've accepted their fate.

I agree with a lot of the comments here - they seem to be chasing a tik tok hit instead of quality/accliam. I loved their debut EP so much, but haven't been in love with anything since.

These girls deserve so much more. This sounds classic yet fresh!

I want the girls to win, but some of y'all are giving this way too much lol.

The song is cute, but it's the same sounding song Ciara gets critiqued for constantly releasing. It literally sounds like the exact throwback ATL-sounding material she keeps getting panned for. So, I'm lost at how it's magically "fresh" and "different" when it's peddled by a different act.

Even in throwing the girls a bone, nothing about this gives the kind of urgency a "we're here and here to stay" single should be giving from them at this point.

It's more of a lil breezy summer song for the moment that almost sounds engineered to try and be a TikTok moment.

I wish them the best, but between the "ok" song and borderline one-scene video, it still feels like they are on shaky ground.

Maybe they have a big song with a big push up their sleeve?

I got tugged at by some when keeping it 100 about the girls, but the reality is that we're gonna be in Q4 soon and their year - while not a waste when considering Coachella and upcoming Kehlani tour - has yielded no charting singles which in turn does not bode well for an album.

They can promise it all they want, but no label (unless it's in the group's contract) is likely to release any kind of album if the supporting singles aren't even charting. It's Business 101.

One more thing...

While I Iove artists innovating and breaking the mold, the fact remains that one or both of the following is a must for a song to hit in 2024 (outside of random vira:

It has to bang on radio or bang in the club or bang on both.

Not sure this fits into any of those categories.

That was what FLY GIRL featuring Missy Elliott was meant to be

I believe that they should've put out an album in the summer of 2023 after Fly Girl. I know they had mangement problems but still.

You can quite literally feel the lack of momentum... no social media / playlist accounts shouting them out like they used to (SpotifyUK did which was a little surprising actually). No magazine covers like there was around the BBC Sound of 2023 poll / Fly Girl

The TikToks they do even give a little desperate. What's crazy is Jorja's tweet and the group's general insinuation that they're always tired / working extremely hard. And the 2 week video turnaround from July 19 to Aug. 2. Definitely gives overworked

I hope something gives for them because I like all their releases even the TikTok-y ones
