When you put it like that, yeah Wrecking Ball is definitely more remembered! :rip:

Would FlyOnTheWall with a 7 Things pfp lie?

not u fighting for your life in here over something so mundane :rip:

Like ask a random person on the street and they'll probably tell you the same thing unless they are mentally stuck in the year 2006 :toofunny3:

Are you telling me Wrecking Ball or We Can't Stop are more remembered than Beautiful or Dirrty? Maybe compare Bangerz era to ARTPOP era but Stripped is in a way different league in every aspect: commercial success, cultural impact, influence in other artists, even critical acclaim.

Umm.. yes. I never even heard of Dirty until it was mentioned on Atrl. WB and WCS are modern classics.

Fighting for my life? I could exit this thread if I wanted to. In fact I will since I'm the only one keeping it alive. You can all circlejeck about how Miley is the biggest singer on Earth for all I care.

That's your subjective experience/opinion. The reality, again rationality, is that BANGERZ was ubiquitous and bigger than Stripped and is still more talked about today

What?! Are you denying that Miley wasn't a total joke in 2013? If anything THAT is why it would be more talked about, not because that era was anything special artistically.

And how is bigger when Stripped sold more?

Like you said in other posts you're not that familiar with Xtina, so I understand why you feel that way. I also assume you're young enough to be unaware of the whole picture. I experienced both eras as a kid and a teenager and it's not that obvious to me. Christina started being taken really seriously as an artist for Stripped. Recognized by LGBT organizations like GLAAD for her activism, nominated and won GRAMMYs, an album that sold around 11M copies if I'm not mistaken, Stripped being mentioned as an influential album for many singers during the 2010s, Miley even paying tribute to the Dirrty outfit during her Bangerz era...

You and @visions are comparing songs that were released 23 years ago during the physical era to songs that were released at the peak of the streaming era. Let's see if Wrecking Ball or We Can't Stop can pull off those numbers in 12 years. :michael: You don't like Christina, it's fine, but Beautiful is a very impactful song that stil gets sung in talent shows everywhere and it has a powerful message that has reached generations. And some stupid streaming stats are not going to change that. Can we stop pretending Spotify is this big receipt of success or cultural impact? SZA performed to an empty Glastonbury while Avril and Sugababes filled it out with ease. Now compare their listeners on Spotify.

Even if you compare Beautiful to other signature hits from the 00s, its numbers are really low.

Ever since I came back to pop forums two weeks ago I found out to my surprise people give a lot of weight to streaming numbers. ATRL thinks Beyoncé is tanking and Xtina is forgotten and Sabrina is the second coming of Jesus Christ. Oh well. Can't say I agree.

Miley wins but the difference is not that big according to CM

Miley - 63m

Xtina - 58m

Xtina has more Grammys but neither of them are really acclaimed or touring forces or hitmakers, both don't have a big loyal fanbase (Miley has BOMBED multiple times with her albums). Xtina is clearly more influential than Miley too, considering she has inspired Miley herself and all of Miley's peers too while I don't know one (1) single relevant artist from Gen Z that has Miley as an inspiration. :michael:

same here actually, christina is harmless but her fanbase is very unlikable

She far from being harmless... She was notorious being known for her means-nasty attitude towards her coworkers, her staff and people around her. It just the massive flops humble her down a bit.

Polls closed. Miley wins by landslide. Congrats queen. :clap3:

It's a bit sad that the only two users screaming that Christina is bigger than Miley have nothing but subjective words like "impact" and "iconic" to justify their answer. This is what happens when you become an adult but let nostalgia mold your view on the world, it almost translates to "who cares about factual data?! Christina was hot in elementary school and that's all that matters! I miss my childhood, bring back the Y2K!!". :skull:

To the rest of the world that is not mentally stuck in their hey days of watching MTV on a satuday night of 2002, the answer is Miley, by a landslide. She has more classics, has sold more, has grossed more and was able to cement her presence in pop music in a way Christina could only dream.

Top Touring Artists Of The Pollstar Era

131. Miley Cyrus

N/A Christina Aguilera

Greatest Artists of All Time on Billboard

63. Miley Cyrus

N/A Christina Aguilera

Like...after looking at those stats, what is even there to genuinely argue? and no, Chartmasters isn't a reliable source. If anything, this comparison is disrespectful to Miley. :rip:
