Sort of agree though it is still impressive in its own way. Like it's only useful in measuring immediate popularity but says nothing about long term success since the number is mostly driven by artists' new releases. I remember Tate was at least in the 30s and now she's back down to 70 since she doesn't have much going on right now. It's only really telling if you hold on to your general placement like Taylor and The Weeknd.

It's a flashy statistic, but the number of actual streams is much more important because that's how you make money, and also how many of the streams are active streams of people intentionally clicking your music vs. passively streaming via playlists or autoplay (no shade).

This is an impressive figure, but I agree the metric is kind of useless. If her song comes on autoplay, you count as a listener. Sustained massive monthly listeners like The Weeknd is impressive though.
