In 2023 she was loved and praised non-stop It's very weird because TTPD is kind of her biggest album but public opinion on her is very negative in mid 2024 That's because of Rep TV
JoJo Posted June 25 Posted June 25 She's no longer touring in the US, and the music industry has been busier this year. With the Kendrick and Drake feud, Billie's new album, and the rise of Sabrina and Chappell, Taylor just isn't dominating like she was last year. We have other artists to talk about. 3 2

Klein Posted June 25 Posted June 25 I think it'll last until the end of the tour (so the end of the year), with the potential releases of Rep and Debut TV. I don't really think it's currently fading away (like, you just have to see how she was welcomed in London just last week), more like we've gotten used to see her everywhere all the time and smashing. It will automatically slow down once the tour is over anyway. 2
Dear Reader Posted June 25 Posted June 25 well, hopefully I want to be able to get tour tickets easily, don't really care for her success 4 1 6

That's true, but she doesn't need to be doing 2 or 3 dates every single tour. She can still fill a stadium here and there without being this much successful as she is.
FireBomber Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Speaking as a U.S. citizen very embedded in pop culture, I think it peaked leading up to the Super Bowl with all the excitement of her flying back from Tokyo to see Travey at the big game. However, I do believe the preceding Grammys were an uncharacteristic speed bump which she ultimately overcame. Since then, the novelty of the relationship has worn off some and the tour going overseas obviously leads to a lack of exposure and coverage in the US market. While TTPD is doing huge numbers, I do feel it is talked about less in my circles than Midnights was. I do believe she has a chance to match her previous peak (in the US at least) when the tour returns to NA and NFL season begins again this fall. Especially if a certain ring is publicly announced and a lovey dovey album coincides. Or if she announced a final run of shows in the US in mid-December. Rep TV and Debut TV are wildcards here. 6
Bethenny Frankel Posted June 25 Posted June 25 I think the GP has slowly been getting over her over the past few months 2
Cloröx Posted June 25 Posted June 25 This is sign and possibly we are heading Puta TV era. Behold yourself @Taylor fanboy
Rotunda Posted June 25 Posted June 25 (edited) No, I think it's just a function of the calendar. Football season is over so she's not getting that additional expire from the sports world. Her relationship status is established at this point. TTPD doesn't have clear singles/TikTok hits the same way Midnights did, and all the tour content most people care about has already been milked. An engagement/breakup, Super Bowl announcement, RepTV, etc. could easily reinvigorate things. Edited June 25 by Rotunda

She was the most Google'd person on the planet for the past 30 days, more than doubling number two, who's Christiano Ronaldo. https://meetglimpse.com/insights/most-searched-person/ Wth is people's obsession with Christiano Ronaldo? lol He's always the at top of the search list and one of the most followed people on IG but I never hear anything about him

Arrows Posted June 25 Posted June 25 I do think that February 2024 will probably remain the peak of Taylormania: Grammys, 4th AOTY, TTPD announcement, AI images controversy, Super Bowl win, most watched TV moment since the moon landing, republican conspiracy theories with Trump, Biden and Hilary all talking about her, Japan-Vegas flight, private jet controversy, Lana and Celine drama, career biggest show in Melbourne… She was truly everywhere. 13 1

Strangely enough I think the NFL unnecessary overexposure made public opinion turn on her, I don't see it bringing goodwill back to her in the fall She should ignore nfl, release Rep TV and Debut in the fall and just take a break If she takes a break and comes with a different sound she can easily have another year like 2023 in a couple years
Digitalism Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Probably The weeks at #1 don't feel real because there's no hits 2

StayFrosty Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Step outside and she ceases to exist. Her IRL "trend" peak was around the Travis thing. 1 2

I come from a suburban midwest NFL loving family and they thought it was so fun to see Taylor on their screens every week (albeit they are chiefs fans and influenced by me, the family swiftie haha). I also think it helped that the chiefs literally won the super bowl, furthering the narrative of america's power couple. Obviously the overall impact and potential of the whole thing would be a lot different if he played for a crappy team. But it's interesting, I could see it just being a one season moment in time, iconic for what it was, and I can also see her leaning into it again this coming season (assuming he keeps winning) although she will admittedly get less benefit from it the second time around. Overall the whole situation is just fascinating to me as a swiftie interested in pop culture trends hahah. 5
UnusualBoy Posted June 25 Posted June 25 I mean it was not gonna last forever, it's more than it's settled down. She had so much going on last year: Midnights was smashing, the TVs, the anticipation of the tour then her break up and all that leading to Travis, SB, etc from early this year. After that it's only been TTPD and she kept touring so not much has going on other than that, I mean no more singles, videos, only variants

(Also — I'm still wondering whether rep will be a massive release like RED, or something more like 1989, which was more muted). She's working on other albums after rep already for sure.. Then come the next album and tour
