Imagine if war criminals were punished as severely as the whistleblowers that expose their atrocities.

:clap3:He's unfortunately pretty much neutered now. He's now a cautionary tale... We won't kill you but we will waste years of your life and torture you psychologically so you better not actually do journalism exposing our deeds.

He will be suicided before the end of the year

I love how y'all conveniently forgot how he became a right wing echo chamber during the 2016 election because he hated Hillary that much :deadbanana4:

Also totally ignoring the horrible things he has said and did. 💀

Good :clap3: I certainly didn't agree with everything he did but this man was persecuted for years for challenging American power, nothing else.

You're so ******* predictable its almost boring. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that everything he says or does is good but you're insane if you think what he did wasn't the right thing.

FINALLY, so good to hear! I hope over time he will manage to heal and get over the years of unjust imprisonment and de facto psychological torture.

The US (and by extension Sweden and the UK), unfortunately, did manage to set a precedent with their treatment of Assange that will prevent potential future whistleblowers from revealing important data and information to the public. But right now I'm just happy that he's free, and also good to see that quiet diplomacy still works, albeit slowly.

Great news. He never should have been detained for uncovering the war crimes of the Obama/Biden government, and he never should have been held in prison for such a long time.

To the muppets who say he was a right wing guy who attacked Hillary, that's a lie. He was not right or even partisan at all. It's just that when it comes to foreign policy, there is no meaningful difference between American establishment left and right. And so Assange had no choice but to oppose both. The fact is despite her opposition to Trump, Hillary is no better than that Orangeutan or Bush or the worst other Republican military industrial complex / nat-sec nutsacks. She has been and still is pro-empire colonizer as worst among the GOP (she is pro-genocide as we speak for example).

And with her it it's not just a matter of having an opinion, she herself was the primary agent of destruction in Laybia — Africa's most prosperous country (in terms of living standards) before she decided to bully Obama and Sarkozy into sending the country back to the stone ages. And this was her opinion on a journalist expressing his freedom of speech:

Again this is not a party political issue.

Assange opposed the GW Bush government as well. In fact that's when he started Wikileaks

What does this have to do with his objectively partisan coverage of the 2016 election and Wikileaks' obsession with the DNC but coincidentally much less so for the RNC and Tr*mp, the partnership right wing journalists and news at the time, and the calculated release of stupid emails by proxy of possibly Russian sourcing?  No one here is claiming that she is a saint or a good  person, but to pretend that he didn't become a right wing echo chamber at that time is utterly delusional.  His credibility went down the toilet.  The same thing happened (but to a lesser extent) with Glenn Greenwald, who had a nearly spotless journalistic record up until then.

Thankfully I'm rational and can separate this from how he was treated and be happy that he is now free.
