Aethereal Posted June 23 Posted June 23 China has a retirement age for women at 55 and men at 60, which is nice to me. So how do you think the ideal retirement age should be? 1
Tropez Posted June 23 Posted June 23 30. At that point your youthful days are behind you. And all the hard work of your 20s should be enjoyed.Β
Johnny Jacobs Posted June 23 Posted June 23 (edited) 55 for both. many countries thinking to even increase it from 67Β Edited June 23 by Johnny Jacobs
Mordecai Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Whenever people want it to be, if people love what they do some will never want to retire Β I met a man once who was a judge and after he retired from the bench (in my country judges are forced to retire once they turn 70) he went back to being a lawyer even though he was filthy rich and had a very generous retirement package. Some people just love what they do and will keep working until they physically cannot 1
Trent W Posted June 23 Posted June 23 With all the AI and robotic real world changes it's probably going to be like 30. Β We might be looking at a future were most people will be living from UBI and not work anymore. Β Idk if that's good or bad tho. 1
KillingYourCareer Posted June 23 Posted June 23 China has a low life expectation compared to Western countries. Ideal is ~65 with the life expectation we have and with the way we start working much later than previous generations.
XxxKatyCatxxX Posted June 23 Posted June 23 50, 65+ is crazy. The average age of death is between 68 and 74.
Goaty Posted June 24 Posted June 24 I'd say late 30s / early 40s if healthcare in the US weren't so closely tied to employment. I'd love to retire early / go part time but the insurance premiums when you're too young for Medicare are absolutely insane
Gesamtkunstwerk Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Idk maybe 60 ? The retirement age here is 73 tho and expected to riseΒ
