Not being motivated for charts or sales doesn't mean no music videos or performances though.

She's been like this since the 4 era. We yell she 'mismanages' her career with sabotaging her singles but in doing so she's created body of works that have broken barriers and impacted pop culture and music along with becoming a legend, something she wouldn't necessarily have become had she chased charts.

I believe her! If she wanted this to be a commercial success there are so many more ways she could have promoted this. Throughout her solo career you can tell Beyoncé has never wanted to be just another R&B singer she's always wanted to take things to the next level and explore.

I lovveeee Beyoncé, she is literally one of my favorite artists of all time, however girl be serious she and her husband LOVE capitalism lol.

It's no shade, all of our rich faves love capitalism… but she certainly partakes.

That being said I think she is being truthful that later in her career she has put her artistry ahead of her capitalism.

This is believable. I still wish she would at least give us an acoustic live performance at her home or something and give the visuals to Renaissance and Cowboy Carter. Do Beyonce understand that the GP is missing her? I get that she has the the Beyhive but the General Public want her to come back a little. They are tired of certain Artist lmao

Well maybe if the general public is tired of a "certain artist" and missing Beyoncé, they should just...you know... stream Beyoncé's music instead of the certain artist's music? Food for thought :michael:

She's pretentious and full of s***. What artistry?? She can't even write one song for the album and she's talking about like she's the next Prince or Stevie Wonder. She's so full of herself it's so cringe

I didn't mention Taylor but you did but I'm happy you realize it. Beyonce needs to drop them visuals and do a couple performances to promote her music. Bey doing that would sure get people to stream her music. Like I said before the GP is missing Beyonce presence and is realizing some things lmao

The irony in all of this is that musicians' promo schedules are less demanding than ever before. All she has to do is drop some visuals, film a couple of videos and do some playlisting at the bare minimum. She doesn't have to fly everywhere and perform or do talk shows anymore like she had to 15 years ago

I genuinely thought she had a shot at AOTY with this but considering how she paid it dust upon release and so it was forgotten straight away I don't see it for her anymore

if she didn't care she wouldn't have teased the start of the era with a Super Bowl commercial.

There are literally a hundred more reasons to prove she DOESNT care lol

I think she cares a lot about the financials of her music, but not necessarily the chart success piece. She wants an ROI for the stuff she does.

Chart success can be synonymous with financial success, but it often isn't.

Ok, but she was talking about the charts and sales of her music, not general capitalism lol. There's multiple ways for her to get money and she's been rich for a long time so there really is no need for someone like her to chase the charts and even more commercial success at this point. She was never that greedy or desperate to begin with, that was her father. Hell, I remember back in the DC days when she used to tell anyone who would listen that she wanted to be retired by age 30 and in a way, she has been semi-retired since age 30. One thing she's always had regardless was ambition and passion for whatever work she was doing. I think all artists should strive to get to a place where they are some kind of financially comfortable so they can experiment to their hearts desire with their music and not have to answer to a label if they're lucky. She really is in a unique position and whether she knows it or not, is probably blazing a trail on how younger popular artists are gonna move in their careers henceforth.
