Not everyone is as plugged in about these things as people on ATRL. :rip:

this is actually a good point I do feel like the only places I'm seeing people talk about this whole mess are here and twitter… I'm gonna give Chappell the benefit of the doubt for sure here because she's probably busy living her musician life anyway. it would be super cool for a popstar to come out in support of Kesha again rn but we'll see

She's a hypocrite wbk

I mean, Chappell probably just saw that a pop star she was a fan of when she was younger was releasing a new single and liked the post, it's likely no deeper than that.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that Katy is the one deserving of backlash over this (and Dr. Luke of course, but that waste of space is a disgusting r*pist that should be held accountable for much more).

and I wish the brain rot gays would stop repeating the "stop blaming the actions of men on women!111" bs :deadbanana2:

there's a difference between blaming a woman for what a man does and holding someone accountable for WILLINGLY making a women's empowerment anthem with a known rapist with a history of misogyny that raped your friend. just say you don't gaf and go :toofunny2:

He never raped Kesha, and Kesha is/was not a friend. If one of your friends gets sued for rape by a woman with a vendeta against him, you will believe the woman, just cause misogyny? I would stand by my friend.

How is it a "women's empowerment" song? Jsut because the word "women" is in it?

Honestly there is no controversy. Dr Luke has been publicly working with major pop stars and securing hits for like 5 years now. The lawsuit is settled, there has been no conviction. I believe Kesha mind you, he was in all likelihood guilty and karma will hunt him down.

Personally I don't blame women for the crimes of men, but that's just me.

And who is blaming Katy for Dr. Luke's sexual assault against Kesha? Quickly.

What's the problem? I won't know if it happened or not. But claiming he didn't is in the same vein as claiming he did. Based on assumptions by bystanders.

I read somewhere she's opening Katy's tour, is that true?

Yeah we get it. Some don't care Katy is working with him and some do. If you don't just don't listen and shut up. This tired discourse needs to rest.

this is a VERRRRRRY big reach, how many degrees of separation away does she have to be? Next thing u know people will be like "she followed a friend of a friend of a friend who follows Katy" :deadbanana4:

Considering Chappel is more relevant and in-demand than Katy right now I doubt that's true.

She'd probably sell-out the venues Katy's team is eyeing by herself if she went on tour right now.

I know Kesha posted that "lol" tweet, but I think I'd have a problem if my fans brought me up or invoked my name every time my abuser worked. I know they aren't doing it maliciously, but how supportive is it to constantly have your name still associated with his? The goal was to free her from her contract and working with him again, yet her career is still entirely entangled with his. I don't see that changing and that's unfortunate for her in the long run.
