houndsoflove Posted June 20 Posted June 20 wonder why it's being labeled as "version" instead of "remix" 1
Everyperfectsummer Posted June 20 Posted June 20 We are witnessing pop culture history in the making 1

Obsessed with the thought of Charli & Lorde kii'ing in the background while people have been losing their minds on this song (Who is it about? Lorde reposting the album? Going to the shows? etc.) and also Charli being like "gosh idk if I'll EVER talk about who the song is about!" at an interview Charli: Idk if I'll ever TALK about who the song is about! also Charli: 6
lustforyou Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I know Charli is bigger on social media than in "the real world", but am I delusional for thinking this could do BIG numbers? I don't see it being a long-term Billboard hit or anything, but Charli has been on an upward trajectory with BRAT doubling (tripling? I forget) Crash's Spotify debut, then the album got great reviews, then it kept going mini viral throughout release week. And now this remix has the drama/beef aspect, Lorde's first song in years, the overlap of their fanbases, Lorde's first feature that's not a producer (I think), and Lorde usually pulling really big debut numbers (Solar Power the single flopped overall but it had a huge Spotify debut day) It could be the overexcited stan in me, but I could see it going top 5 on Spotify for the day? Regardless, this is a great move for both of their careers. Charli is having a huge moment culturally with good numbers, but she needs tactics like these to maintain those beyond deubt week, and Lorde desperately needed to be brought back into the cultural conversation before she starts her next album rollout 1
