Sabrina Carpenter Posted June 20 Posted June 20 ok so when are they going to target the actual celebrities with the most private jet carbon emissions like Travis Scott, Kim K, Elon Musk, and Beyonce? 1

If you are attending her concerts, or any others mind you, you have no rights to cry about environment, you are culpable. 1

When throughout history have people successfully achieved their goals solely through peaceful, law-abiding protests? Consider how women, LGBTQ+ folk, and racial minorities gained rights and had their voices heard - often by not shying away from vandalism, breaking laws, or causing disruption. In our world, those in power and the complacent societies they govern don't listen or change unless protests are forceful. Take climate change activists like those in Just Stop Oil, who have peacefully protested for decades with limited social/governmental impact. It's only in recent years, as they've become more assertive, that mass discourse has begun; both good and bad. While their ultimate aim is to end oil extraction and burning, I believe they also seek to hold a mirror to society. It's funny and scary how society reacts more vehemently to the damage of paintings or statues or private jets than to the literal destruction of our planet by large oil companies - a destruction that will ironically imperil artworks and private jets along with our entire species. I wonders if, when it's too late, people will look back and realize the short-sightedness of their actions during this critical time. 2 1 1
glitch Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I love nothing more than the thought of middle aged centrists and right-wingers seething, so keep it up folks
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted June 20 Posted June 20 And what does this do exactly? You think private jet owners are going to stop and think about their painted jets (when that seems like the same washable paint they used at Stonehenge)? 2

I'm not saying they shouldn't protest but doing unlawful acts can get you in legal trouble and their filming themselves doing it so it's not like they can claim they didn't if they're charged of vandalism (not sire what charges they can get but I'm sure it may be more than it's worth)
Reginald Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Honestly, I'm not mad at this, or any other vandalism they've committed. The world is literally on fire, and the equator will likely be uninhabitable during our lifetimes

Prisoner Posted June 20 Posted June 20 All private jets except for medical and emergency services should be burned down tbh
