I'm only now realizing Normani actually released an album.  Did she try to do a "surprise drop" or something?

No, but I can understand why you might think that.

125k?! Isn't that like just a 2k decrease from last week? That's incredible longevity :clap3:

For an album with zero promotion, no media push, no label support, no pre-orders, and no physical release, are we really surprised by these numbers? Given all these factors, the fact that it managed to sell over 10k is an accomplishment in itself. I was expecting 5k at the most.

You made several points, but I think you missed the bigger picture lol

It's easier to blame race, and it's obviously a huge factor in media across the board, but both Espresso and Good Luck Babe! are smash f*cking hits because they're fresh, new, exciting, and signalling a huge shift in the current pop scene.

If Normani had anything on this album half as exciting as either of those two tracks, people would be paying attention. But I get the sense that she and her team believed that it would just happen because it was "her time" or whatever. All we got a basic ass collection of tracks we've all heard a million times before.

It's not uneasy to blame race when her peers tinashe coco tyla and Victoria have found so much success

Normani's team fumbled big time. No video and physicals when it took so long to release... :toofunny3:

Honestly I feel bad for Normani - this album launch should have been huge, instead... crickets...

Anyway, LOVE to see Charli XCX and Chappell Roan doing so god damn well! Amazing resurgence from Chappell. Organic QUEEN!
