Archetype Posted June 21 Posted June 21 This is sad considering how much effort likely went into it while knowing it would get very minimal promo and such. I'm not saying Normani isn't to blame partially, but her label really messed up their chances with her and definitely isn't going to get their investment back anytime soon. Hopefully something goes viral and she can tour this successfully. 4

Baltie Posted June 21 Posted June 21 As much as I absolutely LOVE the album, the way this entire rollout was handled was so extremely disappointing. I don't know what's up with Normani and/or her team, but the fact that it took so long to release an album, and not to mention we got the finalized track list so late, had 1:59 as the lead single when other better songs were right there, and currently have zero visuals (not counting the Wild Side MV) and the lack of promo, makes me think there's some sort of label drama involved. I can't help but think she's in a Tinashe 2.0 type of situation, extremely talented but withheld by her label. 6
Polgg48 Posted June 21 Posted June 21 all promo this week has been wasted interviews non-issues about what could have been said in 2021 and one ig chat without any announcement, in other words, a random album to fill up contract and forward to other interests as 4h reunion. 'all yours' is her last chance ever, limit visualizer video promo radio on that or hope someone relevent put her as rent a feature girl on drop off.

Hopefully something goes viral and she can tour this successfully. From the lack of promo it doesn't seem they invested much to expect any return. They set her up as a visual artist where mvs and performances matter, and yet we got none of that the release week of her much anticipated debut album. I think the issue comes down to RCA wanting her to be a R&B pop crossover and it seems shes resistant to it. When she said recently that she didn't want to release Motivation and it was the label pushing, I was a little shocked. I'm not saying it's the greatest song, but releases like that are strategic at 1 upping your career and broadening an audience. Beyoncé, Mariah, Rihanna and even Ariana have all done albums with big pop songs that appeased the radio and masses. They played the game, took that success and used it to their advantage on later projects. Maybe her personal management isn't advising her well, or she has bad reps at RCA since they aren't the greatest label. I'm just shocked she didn't even get the TikTok/socials push Tate taught them in the past few years. 1 2

None of the songs broke the overall top 200 and they peaked lowly in the R&B charts and decreased throughout the week. Her fans focus too much on AM Album charts, but the songs charts tell a different story… She's gonna need digital sales to come through and hopefully she can sway previous 5H fans that used to buy copies instead of streaming projects during her peak 1 1
Hitchhiker Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I love this album it's sad it's not hitting with everyone else hope she can salvages it somehow

Breathe On Moi Posted June 22 Posted June 22 this album has been out for only 2 days? or did we stop counting
_Fey Posted June 22 Posted June 22 11 minutes ago, Breathe On Moi said: this album has been out for only 2 days? or did we stop counting It came out last week and it failed to appear in the top 50 on HDD's chart meaning it sold less than 16k in its first week in the US.
Johnny Jacobs Posted June 22 Posted June 22 Why did anyone thought it would do something? A debut album with zero promo?? 1
Dula Peep Posted June 22 Posted June 22 It's obvious the label just dropped the album just to get rid of her 2

AlleeX Posted June 22 Posted June 22 honestly guys, these numbers are ok given the non-existent hype and promo and these countless delays :( it's a shame, to me it's a pretty solid r&b record and she def has found her sound. but ok.. let's hope for some next steps although it seems like a lost cause.
