I've been saying this as well. It's like she decided to put all the eggs into the TTPD success basket. Aside from the people you mentioned she's also alienating a lot of casual fans, hybrid fans and those who were at least sympathetic to her prior to this album. Not to mention she's also asking her core fanbase to purchase those new variants almost on a weekly basis. I'm sure those people are not robots, no matter how "loyal" they are and at some point will stop mobilising to future releases. It's very odd behaviour from someone who's already on top by quite a long mile.

I've been a fan of Taylor since her debut era, but she's officially lost me with all these antics she's pulled this year.

 

The way she keeps trying to block other women is absolutely disgusting, especially considering the fact that she doesn't even NEED to do this. She's the biggest artist in the world for christ sakes. Is nobody else allowed to have success but her???

It would MAYBE make sense if this was her last album before a very very long hiatus, like it'd be a stellar supernova of success sure.. but we're guaranteed two more rerecordings and, at that point, another original album or two are pretty much guaranteed. I guess we'll see what her long term payoff is.

Same, I was so excited for TTPD release but after the album it's like she abandoned the era and focused only on selling more stuff. No new single, no discussion about the music itself, zero interaction with fans online… it's just new merch every week. Boring and desperate
