The US no longer imports much oil from Saudi Arabia for domestic consumption (what it does import is primarily for refineries which then immediately export it again), and the Saudi's are not currently capable of offering much geo-strategically at the moment to be able to attempt to persuade the US in another manner. I doubt it'll work under Biden (Trump might be more receptive), but reading into this as a the American Empire is falling, the Dollar is dying!! story is missing like 99% of the context (and listening to the people purporting this to be a massive market disruptor is just doing yourself a disservice). Those Dollars won't disappear from the global market, they'll just be invested in a different country or different trade sector. This will only affect a minority of Saudi Arabia's oil trade, let alone that from any other producers, let alone any other commodities.
