TitanicSurvivor Posted June 11 Posted June 11 You ALL have forgotten about it don't y'all? According to open available sources, Assassin's Creed franchise is currently the ninth best selling franchise in history and the biggest by Ubisoft. They released MANY games, novel books, comic books, and everything i listed was pretty successful (200 mlns copies of video games sold worldwide!!!). However when it comes to movies, wel... In 2016 the AC universe received its first motion picture and it was a DISASTER. Even tho it was a box office hit the reviews (by both critics and fans) were mild and now it's being referred to as one of the worst movies based on video games. So, What is absent in this movie that presented in movies like Prince of Persia or RE or Tomb Rider or any other successful movie based on video games? Do you think AC deserves a "second chance" and another movie?

JO1s Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Probably a team that wasn't very loyal to the source material. I feel most of these cinematic story games work better as series than movies too. 1

Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I didn't even watch it, even tho I love the games. Just didn't think it was needed. Can't comment on if it's good or not
Hephaestus Posted June 11 Posted June 11 To think I even went to an exclusive premiere for this It's not that bad, but it's not good either. It diverged too much from the source material in a way even hardcore fans couldn't justify, plus the story wasn't particularly good or interesting. A waste of Michael Fassbender tbh. Was it so hard to adapt Ezio's saga? That's (still) a smash waiting to happen.
Batsy Armada Posted June 13 Posted June 13 I watched the movie before I actually got deep into the game series, and I enjoyed it. I found it to be a good and entertaining movie. Still do. It seems like people always want a direct lift from the source material, to where it's practically a copy and paste job. Having watched it in retrospect, after getting into the gaming series, I liked it and the lore it added to the overall series.
