Chiquita has done the same for decades in Honduras and El Salvador and Guatemala and the Caribbean and went as far as to conspire a coup of the Guatemalan government with Eisenhower after a reform bill expropriated most of their landholdings to peasant farmers they exploited (yes, this is the same company as United Fruit).
