video game Microsoft Doubles Down on Xbox Brand with Jam Packed AAA Games Showcase

Amid confusion on the direction of Microsofts controversial Xbox gaming brand, Microsoft has seemingly doubled down on gaming investments. The company delivered a simple jam packed showcase today, giving insight into a slew of AAA gaming titles across a wide array of genres. Returning fan favorites and brand new franchises were announced, and a vast amount coming to Xbox Game Pass on release. Commentary by Sarah Bond also gave insight into the brands next-gen console push.

 

Games such as Indiana Jones, Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Stalker 2, Perfect Dark, Fable, Gears of War and much more were shown as coming to Game Pass.

 

 

 

The showcase has been met with essentially universal acclaim by the gaming community, with many congratulating the brand for having the best games showcase in decades (some say of all time).

Half the games listed in the OP are also releasing on PS5. Even more are releasing on PC. 

 

Which is fine, but Im not buying an Xbox for Gears of War, Indiana Jones and Fable

Like I said, good for people who own Xboxs. But I personally dont see a reason to go drop $400 on an Xbox if you already have a PS5 or a decent gaming PC.

Sis.....Black Ops 6, Diablo, Assassins Creed, and Life is Strange is all you're interested in Out of all the games listed? AND all those will be on Gamepass day one aside from like a select few  there's no argument to be had. The proof is in the show, Xbox is the brand, its back. If Microsoft had a showing like Playstation just had this thread would be full of Sony fanboys  Microsoft slayed, got fans excited for the future again, and their studios showed their a**  Ultimate fan service here.

The games Im most interested are Dragon Age and Metal Gear Solid, both of which are coming to PS5.

I've been waiting for Perfect Dark for ages. It was always one of my favorite games, going all the way back to the original. I hope it keeps the spirit of the original series intact, being an adaptation of that with the changes being made to Joanna Dark's character and background.

 

State of Decay 2 has been the gift that keeps on giving, but I am looking forward to the third title in that series. I hope it's coming sooner rather than later. It's insane to think it was announced and first revealed in 2020.

Next generation likely won't even have Xbox hardware as MS will likely pull out of it after the abysmal sales of Xbox Series S/X which trailed even the last Xbox generation which was already bad.

 

Which is exactly why MS made the decision to bring some Xbox exclusives to PlayStation. We will almost certainly see more of that, as from an economical standpoint Xbox simply doesn't have enough hardware out there to make a true exclusive worth it anymore.

 

Xbox will soon disappear I wager, with Nintendo and Sony being the main contenders once again.

Some of these look great. I think the issue for many gamers - myself included - is whether these will be fully fledged real games or whether they'll be micro-transactioned, online-only experiences. The latest Forza is a good example of this. Weak sales and poor longevity but available on Gamepass. I would love to see them shift away from this model, so we'll see what happens with Flight Sim, since that's also day one Gamepass.
