I didn't realise she had six albums already, until I checked just now, so she is a free agent now if she wants to be?

 

Independent artist might be the best option for her.

You still don't get label promo, but you keep a bigger percentage.

I was just thinking how it's incredible that she keeps consistently putting music out without any real hits as of lately. 

 

Considering she writes her ****, her projects must not cost much, and the little they do generate prob turn a profit for the label.

People thought the same about MTV in the 80s though. It's just a medium to promote music, while it has its downsides, it's not the root of the problem imo.  
 

Music industry itself is not innovative + therefore they have to bend at the whim of these tech companies.  The music industry did it to itself though by being archaic (and exploiting artists truth be told…lowkey karma ). 

 

Social media is not going anywhere. Even if TikTok gets banned, there will be another app.  Really comes down to labels not being innovative and not knowing how to break artists outside of what's on trend.

This is weird because I feel like I see random artists no one has ever heard of, with no hits, on big playlists all the time.  At least Meghan has some hits and name recognition.
