My friend started raving on about this so I guess I'll be picking this up. The only thing I know about this franchise tho is that my friend wrote fanfics about a bald elf and made me read some of them a few years back.

Everyone's probably waiting for the reviews, Silent Hill 2 was in a similar position, and the overwhelming praise really helped it. I personally pre-ordered the game and like most of what I've heard about it, but I understand why people are cautious.

I feel like with silent hill you already know what you're getting though because you know the story. With DATV I am very concerned considering previous choices aren't carried over. Feels like they're trying to go the BG3 route where they're trying to win over new people with a 'fresh start' but that just means actual fans are getting the short end of the stick and that the storytelling (the most compelling thing about DA) will suffer for it. I will still play first day and try to not to go into it with a negative view but it's not going to be easy

I've watched what has been shown to us so far and idk. combat looks good but it doesn't feel like DA to me? I don't want to be anymore influenced by others as i already am so i'll play to form my own opinion. i'm just worried they messed up

The looks fun from the clips that I saw! Also happy to support as it has the incel crowd fuming 

 

What I need to know though is how this game controls... is the control scheme pretty simple and easy to pick up for someone new? Or is it a confusing mess like Monster Hunter  I tried playing that game and could not make sense of it, so I hope this isn't similar cause it looks like it could be complex?
