dussel_06 Posted June 6 Posted June 6 But Apple Music doesn't have daily charts that we can brag about. Sorry, but I need my fave's daily streaming stats for my mental stability. 2
Orsay Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Who cares… it's giving iPhone vs Android, tired. Stop identifying with brands! 2 1 1
bad guy Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I'm sticking by my Spotify student discount. I used to have AM but it's too bright, slow, and discovering new music is impossible. Spotify sounds fine to me plus the UI is seamless. Only thing I hate is their shuffling and the playlists that they make you where the songs are supposed to change every day but it just recycles the same thing.
tost1 Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Spotify is more convenient for me and I don't wanna support anything apple
Dolce Vita Posted June 6 Posted June 6 idk i wanna switch to apple music eventually but i have so many playlists and new music that i discovered thanks to spotify so
Prodigal Self Posted June 6 Posted June 6 It's so redundant at this point Some prefer Spotify and some AM and that's how it's always been. If you're special or feeling spicy Tidal, deezer, whatever. Just a preference 1
babyforlife Posted June 6 Posted June 6 spotify: playlist and song recomnmendation apple music: anything else im so locked with apple ecosystem so using non apple product feels disjointed somehow... 1
Hephaestus Posted June 6 Posted June 6 There are things where Apple Music is behind Spotify, that's true, but audio quality + lyrics/karaoke + library management alone are enough for me to never look back at the latter. Just on another level.
Burn Posted June 6 Posted June 6 (edited) 5 hours ago, Capris Groove said: Sorry but I MISS iTunes like crazy. You can't sort in Spotify for ****. You just end up listening to your most recently liked songs. You could customize the **** out of iTunes and it gave you so much user control. Can I do this in Apple Music? You can't even filter music by release year in Spotify. If I want to listen to my '70s music I have to find a playlist and kinda hope they did it half decent. I'm ova it! The answer is yes. Apple Music is basically the same as iTunes except it looks a lot sleeker these days. All they basically did is drop the 'iTunes' name and rebranded it as 'Music' but it absolutely essentially is the same thing with the same functionality. It's great being able to manage my own library. I can change artwork, change the format/spelling of titles, add unreleased music (or rare music not available on streaming) to my library and it looks legit af as if it was any other album. diemoehre Posted June 6 Posted June 6 My family has a family subscription on Spotify and I would need to convince them all to switch. Also, I got all my stats and playlists on Spotify. So out of convenience I'll stick with Spotify

I was unaware you could do this with Apple Music, i thought these functions were only on the Music app So tell me if I have say, a bunch of unreleased stuff that I add to my Apple Music library, does it synch with my phone too somehow? Or I have to have local files on both my systems?

Comedor Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I might switch to Apple Music after being with Spotify for almost a decade now. Is there a way to migrate my playlists from one to another?
CottageHore Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Apple Music always has been and always will be better. This isn't even an opinion, it's objective fact based off of the features Apple Music offers alone. The girls who get it, get it and those who don't get it are meant to be paying extra money for a shittier service, let them 2 1
glitch Posted June 6 Posted June 6 There's something so funny about the way people bat so hard for these big tech companies. Samsung, Apple, Google, Spotify, Netflix, Disney etc. These billion/trillion dollar companies don't need to do any marketing or promotion for them. Choose whatever you prefer and let other people do the same.
superben Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I am actually using both as my friend includes me in an Apple plan for iCloud. I like AM for the better quality and change of metadata, but the amount of playlists over the years on Spotify alone is just enough reason I'd never switch to AM solely. AM playlisting is shitty if you want discover something new.
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Spotify is an ugly and terrible app like I genuinely don't see why people prefer it. Back when I had it I couldn't scroll properly and the UI was all over the place. I much prefer AM for its clean and organized look. Also I personally don't listen to a lot of curated playlists but some of their personalized playlists are accurate asf and the new thing they do with the full screen album covers washes Spotify blurry video canvases. Also their audio quality is **** (and AM gets most album releases before Spotify)
Gladiator Posted June 6 Posted June 6 I did some thinking and switched to Apple Music and spent 4 bucks on a service that would transfer all my **** to Apple Music. Only 15 tracks weren't available which is fine since I probably won't notice them anyway. 1
