The possibility of having to live through more than one pandemic is scary.

Get ready. If meat eaters continue to support animal agriculture this will be the new normal.

The person had multiple underlying medical conditions and had been bedridden for three weeks, for other reasons, prior to the onset of acute symptoms, WHO said.

I could be totally wrong since I am not a health expert, but based on this quote from Reuters maybe there were other causes to why he died? Still a tragic death nonetheless though. :cries:

He died from H5N2, they confirmed clinically. But yes he had other diseases prior and was already very ill before it.

Plus, despite not having direct contact with animals, he lived very close to an area where there was a outbreak of animal cases in March, he died in April.

That´s probably it, no signs of human-to-human transmission and very low risk.

That said, this is obviously going to be a problem quite soon, animal cases won´t stop popping up, increasing the possibilities from mutations that can infected people by airbones. At least there´s already solid advances for future vaccines happening.

Sadly with climate change and antibiotic resistance, we're gonna get a few more pandemics in our lives :gaycat6:
