Bosque Posted June 4 Posted June 4 She never once mentioned the word Palestine though? Even the part about USA student protest is very vague and doesn't say she agrees with the protesters or anything 4 5

PoisonedIvy Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Lorde is a member of my generation, the younger generation that is a lot more outspoken and steadfast in their beliefs. The previous generation (like Beyonce, Taylor, Rihanna, etc) are sadly still the last wave of a group that were media trained to keep their politics to themselves for the most part. Unfortunately it's hard to shake that. No one is -required- to speak up, but I'm glad Lorde is. There's no downside to using the platform you have to spread a positive message. 4 4
Luckitty Posted June 5 Posted June 5 I'm so disappointed in my fave olivia for not saying anything, especially since she used to talk a lot about social issues before becoming famous
Letemtalk Posted June 5 Posted June 5 "our preferences are revealed not through our statements but our choices." She is saying don't vote for Genocide Joe. 3
réveuse Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Lorde is a queen. Celebrities with major platforms should speak out against injustice.
