Unfortunately, having female leaders still wouldn't address the fundamental problem—that Israel itself is a settler-colony which serves as a military outpost state for U.S. and European imperialism. Its continued existence as a colonialist occupying state is the primary obstacle to peace in the region, irrespective of the identities of its political leaders. Consider the example of Israeli politicians like Knesset member Tally Gotliv, who openly endorses the use of starvation as a tactic of collective punishment against the population of Gaza. Or in the U.S., politicians like Hilary Clinton who have called for rigging Palestinian elections. Leaders of any gender can be vicious imperialists. 3
