Ukrainian/Russian Music Discussion | Megathread

I think what changed Maruv is the war. She's Ukrainian but she had spent a LOT of her time promoting and performing in Russia, so when the war broke out, she must've had some sort of an identity crisis + it all was happening during her pregnancy which added even more pressure

Agh i still wish Anna Sedokova wasn't this silly to just throw this song away. Imagine how much of a serve it would have been if she agreed to record this song with Vintage:flame:

Isn't she basically hated by the ukranian people?

I heard she changed her stage name and everything. Anyway this remains her best song even tho it's a feature

I mean most of people hate Maruv because she was posting some crazy **** about the war, but some people still love her music tho. And no, she didn't change her name, she created alter-ego like a year before the war

I honestly feel like Anna had so much wasted potential. After she left Via Gra she was bound to become a pop queen but sadly she threw it all away. Sure she has some bops but most of her discography is bland imo. And it's sad because she is very talented

Okay, thanks.

I'm not russian or ukranian just a casual listener of russian and ukranian pop and I'm out of the loop with the news since I can't speak the language.

Unfortunately, after leaving VIA Gra, when Anna was at the peak of her popularity, Meladze put a lot of spokes in her wheel, which greatly hindered her for many years :deadbanana4:

If one day she decides to make and release a song like "Ya zabudu tebya", I'll cry so hard :gaycat6:

I have a manager at my job that I LOVE, she's from Ukraine — someone send me a song that she would undeniably know. An absolute CLASSIC. I want to surprise her and play it at our meeting tomorrow!

Be careful to put out this lady, she is pretty problematic and your manager might not like when you play her songs (but they are bangers anyway)
