Feanor Posted June 3 Posted June 3 62,000 people is massive wtf… and she's doing it twice. Also apparently this was the biggest concert ever by a female artist outside of Paris? Kinda asterisk'd, but just goes to show how much demand she has even beyond the capital.
Mountain_Aardvark Posted June 29 Posted June 29 If Indochine's attendance requires an asterisk, so does Taylor's. At some point, the numbers don't really matter and become misleading. Mylène's production team chose not to seat people off to the sides and behind the front of her stage for obvious visibility reasons. https://youtu.be/HnFG38yQ62U https://youtu.be/ETX7eodmvyg She also performed in Geneva which is <100 mi away. Hardly any of the 125k who attended these three sold out shows were international tourists, and she did not feel compelled to brag about audience size. Humility is a virtue. 1

Not you bumping a one month old thread for a random meltdown No one cares about your excuses, Taylor broke the female record attendance, go touch some grass. Edited June 29 by Squall 1 9

Fair enough - but why did you feel compelled to caveat the overall record with the 360 degree stage remark? Nevermore has a 180 degree stage, while Eras has a 200 degree stage and that is the reason for the attendance difference. Not saying that Eras seating is bad - it actually looks pretty good from what I've seen. The entire performing area looks pretty open and it makes sense to sell seats that aren't sold for more theater-like performances. My point is simply that international touring numbers shouldn't be conflated with local popularity. Taylor is way down on the list of what France listens to. So is Mylène for that matter. They both put on spectacular shows, and that's why they sell all places offered for each performance.
Lemon Posted June 29 Posted June 29 It's Saturday, Sun shines big and bright and yet lovely user @Mountain_Aardvark felt the need to dedicate their (first) two posts today to Taylor Swift's tour stops in Lyon, because it is of upmost importance that we know not to think for a second that this achievement should be confused with her popularity in Dumas' birth country. 1 6

What are the numbers? 2
