concubine Posted June 3 Posted June 3 (edited) Although Normani's new single 'Candy Paint' did not chart in the Top 200 of Global/US Spotify during it's release week, the single has performed exceptionally well in Youtube audio streams, even trending on the platform, leading fans to celebrate online. Quote However, some fans have noticed an alarming discrepancy in the Youtube statistics for Candy Paint: despite accumulating 1 million views so quickly, it has less than 15k likes, and less than 2k comments. This caused many to call out Normani's team for needlessly wasting money on Youtube ads to inflate the view count for the audio - although this is not an uncommon practice, this has never occurred before to promote an audio video. Normani's album will release in just weeks - is this a wise decision? Quote Edited June 3 by concubine
Nico Robin Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Honestly let her use a few tactics and tricks, we need that album to come out somehow 14
TitanicSurvivor Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Who cares about audio- i mean who cares about YT in 2K24 she just throwing her money away at this point 3
Johnny Jacobs Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Let her chile. Everyone else is doing worse. She needs every tactic possible. 1 2
Burn Posted June 3 Posted June 3 yall complain when artists don't promote their work and then when they do invest in promotion yall drag them too. 9
glitch Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I mean she might as well. Mad that her team is willing to spend money on this but won't get her to like...announce her singles before they drop 1 1
Erreur2 La Nature Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Of course Youtube views are fake but Spotify streams are too. Everyone manipulate them. 3
Sad Beautiful Tragic Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I'm not sure why this is being made into an issue. Many major artists regularly invest in YouTube ads, and it's a highly effective way to promote songs since they appear on popular playlists. At least her team is doing something. Only on ATRL would this be turned into a tired gotcha moment. 8 1 1
illia Posted June 3 Posted June 3 If they wanted to use ads, they should've done that for the music video, not a f*cking audio wtf are they thinking Unless there's no music video planned at all... 1

I think the aim is to get one of the. these songs to catch on and only then will they do a Music Video for it.
Virgos Groove Posted June 3 Posted June 3 I get that this place drags everyone, but the way people pile on Normani has always been weird. 4
