Popular Post Dolce Vita Posted June 2 Popular Post Posted June 2 as much as i love her music she can't really talk like isn't her ex husband/baby daddy a billionaire? what about the big designer brand collabs she's done over the years? lmao she's benefitted from the same machine beyonce has 19
cuteboyzay Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) Beyoncé was bragging about being a billionaire since before taking on the role of being a full on activist. Not only that, but Beyoncé has ALWAYSSS been for Woman's rights ever since Destiny's Child. Gosh these old a** nostalgic takes on her rise to billionaire status and her mega-successful superstar status are so d*mn embarrassing. Her being an "activist" has quite frankly severely alienated a HUUGGEEE crowd for her. Hence the reason why a lot of Men and (oddly enough) Woman have NOT liked her for yearssss. Even a lot of Black woman have shown great disdain for Bey. This is so off and wrong lmaooo! Edited June 2 by cuteboyzay 4 5
Popular Post wanderlust Posted June 2 Popular Post Posted June 2 I mean.. there is truth in that she only started to become the face of activism when it was acceptable to do so.. there was no risk, if anything, it made her bigger.. big contrast to the artists who really got boycotted by major corporations so their music wouldn't be played on the radio 13 6 1 1

Kristie Kuwa Posted June 2 Posted June 2 When Childish Gambino hit #1 with This Is America, he was celebrated. When Beyonce released Formation, she was threatened by the US Police with less protection. Formation came before This Is America. Thats all im going to say to this topic 3 1

That's ok though, few celebrities risk their livelyhood for their principles, whether they can afford to or not. 1

Red Velvet Posted June 2 Posted June 2 now shes on trumpers podcast begging for them to like her. Loser behaviour 4
Blue Monday Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) I love some of her older music and used to enjoy her but all offense, what has this lady done besides shout conspiracy theories into the void? She's nothing more than a sad parody of who she used to be. Say what you want about them but Bey and Jay bailed out BLM protestors, that's certainly more than MIA has done. Her art has been rooted in black culture from the beginning, but she did lose a lot of casual (white) fans in the 10s who thought she was too political. Being a billionaire comes with its own set of problems……but activism isn't what got Beyoncé to that level lbr. Also, why are we listening to M.I.A? Sure she's a music legend but she's also a 5G nut and has been publicly anti-black for years. Lest we forget we she criticised Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Lauryn Hill & Public Enemy for making black protest music during her all lives matter rant back in 2016. 13 6
KatyPrismSpirit Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I can't believe M.I.A. became such a low life loser. Now shes on pro Trump podcasts and licking the asses of conservatives preaching gospels. What happened to the woman behind Bad Girls? 1

Pinkbutterflies Posted June 2 Posted June 2 (edited) Mia the original activist can see right through bey. Fun fact: bey avoided pushing any social boundaries earlier in her career. At one point, people were saying she was secretly a Republican. It wasn't until she married Jayz and changed her branding when she capitalized on social activism. Even then she was always being safe and late - she jumped on BLM during its peak and finally spoke about gay issues 25 years into her career. Edited June 2 by Pinkbutterflies 9 4 2
Onyxmage Posted June 2 Posted June 2 The way Beyonce's fans are talking about her like shes MLK or something. Maybe MIA made some points. 1 11

Thats all im going to say to this topic MIA is a loser but this implication that Beyonce somehow opened a door for Black artist to be marginally ~political has to be the worst bit of revisionist history and straight up ignorance on Black art I've seen in a while 3 5 1
Bey'Knight Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Activism was so acceptable the police threatened to boycott her shows, boycott Beyonce was trending online. Till this day, racists still attack her in the comment section of Post Malone for their collaboration but yes, activism is so acceptable.
TeemoR Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Well she is right. Beyonce is a faux activist, benefitted from supporting what is "cool to support" in America. She doesn't do anything remotely risky that could hurt her brand though. 1 3 5
