I'm upset because the album is one of my favorites this year and she worked so hard on it and its film. Latinos hate her because she's not Latin enough and her diva attitude. And most think she hates their queen Shakra. bp hate her because she "stole" the voices and music of black artists White people don't care much about her. 1
ZENO Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I feel sorry for her… the album wasn't really my cup of tea as I'm more into dance pop, but I truly believe she could try to create a new body of work with RedOne. Early 10s nostalgia is starting to build up, especially here in Europe, and she's one of those names who truly made the early 10s what they're known for. It would be a smart to step into Europe with some new On The Floor and promote here for a while. 1

Not sure why she added a 2nd date in, she's not Shakira Then it's a row of disaster across the West Coast and Texas with cheap tickets still available to purchase Imagine even flopping in LA This one looks like 80% UNSOLD The pattern of the remaining seats on the upper floor looks so weird, I believe some seats are hided And here we go, a series of flop shows The 1st NYC show looks okay but the 2nd one is terribly sold Any comments? @DanceAgain Thank you for the receipts cause the deluded Jlo stans keep believing that the tour was 70% sold out 😂 and also that Live Nation and the insurance would let her cancel the entire tour cause "she wants to spend time with her family and close friends". This entire era was doomed from the start and people around her kept pressuring her to stop all of this but she kept on going. Her brand has suffered tremendously from this entire ordeal. Let this be a learning lesson from her. 7 1
holyground13 Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I accidentally wrote an essay: I have complicated feelings about JLo as an artist / entertainer and a person. On the latter, I've seen many people say she was mean and that was before the online hate train. Part of the fact when I initially became a fan was because of the underdog aspect to her story and how it seemed like you could root for her. So the fact she likely wasn't a nice person behind the scenes ruined that in short. Her career is actually quite an interesting case study in the music business because of its ups and downs. I think she became known as a celebrity who also sang, danced and acted and not the other way around (i.e. a singer who is also a celebrity). Her fame originally fit the early 2000s quite well: she was seen as a woman from "humble beginnings" who became successful and fashionable and that was seen as aspirational. But I think she failed to plan long term and just kinda did a movie if she wanted to and then an album if she wanted to and just hoped for the best based off her celebrity. And I think that resulted in some successes such as On The Floor but also many middling or underperforming projects. The quality of the work was also hit or miss. One thing that has been strong has been her performance skills, and the Super Bowl was an excellent moment for her however sadly both she and Shakira didn't follow that up with an album or set of performances until four years later (this year). I think a large part of why the internet have been so loudly harsh on her recently have been that she doesn't have a large or loud following considering her level of fame. No Beyhive, Navy, Little Monsters etc.: a large group of die-hards who will defend her. There's likely a myriad of reasons for that but one may be the hit or miss of her output. So yeah, despite the fact she doesn't seem like the nicest person it's still not good to see someone go through a tough time so I hope things become better for her both professionally and personally. 10 1
Popular Post Leptine Posted May 31 Popular Post Posted May 31 With tones of serious vile and problematic celebrities out there I will never get the current hate towards this woman. 15

This was their update as of two days ago: Ahh, they had reduced the count at every single show. Most of the venues can hold 17k+. I was wondering how the over abundance of empty seats from the screenshots of how the tour was doing made it so that she was 70% at capacity.

Doing arena show in Austin but not together with San Antonio, Dallas, Edinburg and Houston. Too many dates in Texas. San Antonio is another one doing poorly. Two cities are very close to each other.
Where are you now? Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Her flopastrophic year aside, at least she got the ATRL banner on February 16, 2024 3
NausAllien Posted May 31 Posted May 31 It's not like her tour was NOT selling... It was selling, at a slow rate but it was selling. I'm sure she wants to take some time off after this year has not been kind to her. 3 2
Onyxmage Posted May 31 Posted May 31 The fact that tiktok decided to cancel this woman out of nowhere just proves how lifeless people have become. 7

Gottasadae Posted May 31 Posted May 31 This is Me... Never Happened Tour I mean, her team are way too greedy - $500-1000 tag price for decent seats, girl bye.

Mr.X Posted May 31 Posted May 31 So what exactly did she do wrong to get all this hate this year? She worked?... Like, she is a multimillionair who doesnt stop working - and probably doesnt have much quality control in all areas of her career - but to be given this hate train, it is quite something actually... 2
MariahC Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Aww that's sad huh.. Well, like I said in the other thread, at least she still has the Netflix and Prime Video deals...
