Due to his grotesque behavior and lack of remorse, it's quite possible that he'll get sentenced to serve some prison time (less than a year) in Rikers Island.

He is absolutely not going to serve any jailtime. No one would for these charges, which have only ever been charged as misdemeanors until this trial. And if he wins the election, it's all moot anyway.

His hands are tied. His major political donors are all supporters of Israel, and that includes the Kushners.

Donors should never have this much power. Perhaps this will change things, because Wallstreet and Hollywood own the democratic party. It's utter crap.

I get it, but if the cost is killing more than 30,000 innocents, those are awful excuses.

If he is not serving jailtime or this is stopping his campaign then this is all BS and Idgaf

But will he go to jail.

He's not going to spend a day in prison. He'll probably get a cute little fine and be branded a full time criminal, which he is most likely proud of so he can collect more money.

People think this will not change anything, but I think it does in the long term. As someone from a very conservative town, I hardly see anyone as passionate about him as they were in 2016 and many openly talk about how he turns out to be a corrupt criminal. There's a lot of shame.

I think the turning point was the flop insurrection then Cheeto asking for money. Shocker, I told you so. Many are most likely voting against Biden, but not necessarily for Trump. I see the upcoming elections as one of the lowest turnouts in history.

This!

My parents live in a conservative town. When I visited them in 2020, there were Trump flags everywhere.
When I visited them last week I saw none. But I did see a lot of F*** Biden flags. And one RFK Jr sign :gaycat6:

America is so partisan that the candidates do not matter anymore. Who ever each party nominates has a 50/50 chance of winning. No matter how old, corrupt or senile they are

We can talk about America being the dumbest nation when many other countries figure out how to even gain an ounce of the power America has... For being so smart they sure... aren't?

They're really trying hard to push the narrative that this will help Trump win the election on social media. :rip:

live in a majority Black city and the amount of folks in my neighborhood saying the "system" is trying to take him down bc he's too real and that he freed Kodak and Lil Wayne cause he gets it.

Same logic as Sexyy Red (still love her down)

but this is sad...

Trump is leading imho regardless of what polls say. This just emboldens the whole persecution complex, his supporters and those toeing the line of supporting him, believe.

They are not excuses. This is a very tragic reality. The Government is supposed to work for us, not donors. We pay them and they do not take care of what the people want or need. They are all liars.

Poll: 49% of Independents think Trump should drop out post-guilty verdict

Axios / Alex Thompson, Hans Nichols / June 1, 2024

Why it matters: The Morning Consult poll conducted on Friday offers some of the first clues about how voters are reacting to the unprecedented situation.

By the numbers: 54% of registered voters "strongly" or "somewhat" approve of the guilty verdict compared to 34% who "strongly or "somewhat" disapprove.

  • 49% of Independents and 15% of Republicans said Trump should end his campaign because of the conviction.
  • The polls found the race effectively tied nationally in a 1-on-1 with Biden at 45% and Trump at 44%.

Yes. And if anything, these convictions will probably help Trump more than hurt him. He'll use these to these advantage & independents will probably be swayed into seeing this as "politically motivated." I'm voting for Chase Oliver, the Libertarian. So whether guilty or not Trump wouldn't get my vote, as he didn't in 2016/20. But his donations shot thru the roof after this & the other 3 trials may not happen until after the election.

@Stimulus I can't help but think the Dems want him incarcerated because that's their only "sure" way to make Biden POTUS again. But even that could/possibly would backfire with Kennedy & 2 antiwar candidates (Stein & now Oliver, West won't be on many ballots) on the ballot in virtually every state.
