She clearly has good people in her ear. both her and Gaga are always level headed I'm sure they both feel awful for the situation in Gaza AND feel awful for the victims of October 7th which seem like taboo in radical left circles like ATRL.

Not people here comparing innocent Israeli hostages (some as young as few MONTHS old :rip:) to the prisoners Hamas wants to release which are literal confirmed killers and criminals, sure. :rip:

Ceasefire AND release of all the innocent hostages, good for you Kathryn. :heart2:

The UN disagrees with you - the unlawful detainment of people without trial does not make them a criminal but a hostage.

And Israel has doubled the amount of Palestinians it is holding hostage since October 7th:

People held in concentration camps without trial are hostages, not criminals:

You will be looked back on like those who helped kill thousands of innocents.

Your chest will tighten in rooms in which the subject is brought up and you'll fear every hushed whisper.

She has yet to call out the genocide or condemn Biden (again after previously thanking him) for his crimes, let's not push it dear.

All she did was repost **** from UNICEF which is corrupt as **** in itself and all of their statements are empty "peace for all stop killing children plz!". I'd like to see her learn from her mistakes and actually speak up about the atrocities being committed by Israel, but you're giving her more credit than she deserves.

Thank you!!!

Good for her. But reposting UNICEF posts won't make us forget about the letter you signed thanking Biden for his "unshakeable moral conviction and support" for Israel, Katheryn.

Shouldn't you want people to have a change of heart and realize error in fully supporting Israel?

Katy is massively uneducated (which is common knowledge) and is not eloquent enough to speak on complex topics (as we saw when she tried to be 'woke' in 2017).

If you guys are saying celebrities who supported Israel at any point should just not bother speaking again, you're not helping your cause.

I understand "That's great Katy, but we want more than a repost"

but I don't understand "That's great Katy, but we don't forget what you did in the past"

But w/e yall do yall

We do.

"Not educated" is not an excuse. It's not hard to get educated on the topic if you want to. And contrary to what many people say, it's not complex at all.

It's really exhausting having to repeat everything. Nobody said that she should just not speak up again.

We would love to see her posting more and becoming more vocal about what's happening. The thing is she hasn't done that yet. Silent reposts from UNICEF (which is again corrupt and all of their statements are ****) don't really say anything when she herself hasn't condemned the genocide and Biden, who she previously applauded, for his crimes. It is great that she cares about children being murdered, but they are not the only people dying. It would have been better to show some growth and let her followers know that she learned from her mistake. This is just giving "that's enough activism for today!" because pop stars think the UNICEF is this incredibly reliable org.

Imagine taking almost 8 months to decide whether an ongoing massacre of civilians, including women, children, doctors, nurses, journalists, foreign aid workers and many more is a bad thing or not. I can understand why some people are not impressed.

However there are still others who have said nothing and/or posted nothing on social media.

There is even one with a long wikipedia article: Political impact of <name of artist>

Where is her political impact during a genocide?

Does she have a political opinion on ethnic cleansing or not?

Does her support for women include her fan who went to jail for refusing to join the IDF?

Does this artist have a political opinion about Palestinian women in Israel like this one, who are jailed for a social media posts expressing sadness and solidarity with Palestinians in Rafah?

Even worse, there are some who signed that letter supporting Biden for his "unshakable moral conviction", in the war against Gaza.

Spoiler

I had to check these were the actual words that were agreed on

This letter came after thousands of bombs had already been dropped on civilians and with the exception of Katy, few if any have said anything, or suggested anything to support Palestinian lives in Gaza.

Edit: Katy is not the worst, but she was supporting a genocide for more almost 8 months, before doing the bare minimum. She could have done a lot more a lot sooner.
