G.U.Y_Del_Rey Posted May 30 Posted May 30 (edited) Since she's already doing this thing of adding songs, she should do a double collab with Eminem: Dua Lipa - Houdini (f/ Eminem) and Eminem - Houdini (f/ Dua Lipa), and add both to the album Edited May 30 by G.U.Y_Del_Rey 1

NRO was released LONG before the album, was never planned to be the lead, and was tacked on the album in the end with release of the album to act like it actually had a hit and fraudulently count its streams toward the album total. Zara Larsson included "Lush Life", "Never Forget You" (both 2015), "Ain't My Fault", "I Would Like" (2016), and a Clean Bandit single featuring her on her 2017 album So Good. Another 2016 collaboration single, "This One's for You", appeared on its Japanese edition. Zara Larsson also included "Ruin My Life" (2018), "Wow" (2019), and "Love Me Land" (2020) on her 2021 album Poster Girl. Additional 2019 singles, "Don't Worry Bout Me" and "All the Time", appeared on its Japanese edition. Dua Lipa herself included "Be the One" (2015), "Hotter than Hell", and "Blow Your Mind (Mwah)" (both 2016) on her 2017 self-titled album. Additional singles "New Love" (2015), "Last Dance" (2016), and the promotional single "Room for 2" (2016), appeared on its deluxe edition. Releasing a bunch of singles up to two years prior to an album release is nothing new, and not a shady practice. It is simply an adaptation to the streaming era in which the majority of music consumers simply move on after an album's release when the next thing comes along. In the streaming age, an album era almost has to occur before the album drop, with the album itself acting as the final prize. While of course it does still happen on occasion, it's very rare for post-album singles to perform well. What Katy did with Smile is more comparable to what the artists above did, not what Dua has done here or with her "Complete"/"Moonlight" album editions, or what Selena Gomez did with the international deluxe edition of Rare. "Never Really Over" and "Harleys In Hawaii" were included in the standard edition of the album since day one of release (even before HIH became a viral sensation years afterwards). These songs weren't added to inflate success, they were added because of the previously released songs they best fit the album's vibe and narrative. 7 1

We need to concrete that HIH was added to Smile as the complete bomb single, being her first single without Hot 100 charting peak. Some people pretend like she has added it after multiple viral HIH moments. Edited May 30 by Bends

XXI. Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Obviously Dua recorded this for the Barbie movie, and it was solely intended for the soundtrack...but she did technically record it during the same time and sessions of Radical Optimism. If she added it to the record it'd obviously be due to this album having no smashes...but wouldn't be that crazy.
Blackout2006 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 (edited) 10 pages over *checks notes* Tidal and...*turns over page* Katy Perry? Edited June 3 by Blackout2006 1
KingWitch Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Even if its only on Tidal for now, its going to happen anyways. Her team will stack on every song she's done till it gets 9billion streams like her other albums, its just shameless 1
